+ More information

Follow the route of the Albula and Bernina Railway and experience this UNESCO World Heritage Site at your own pace. From Thusis, the route leads via St. Moritz to Tirano on the Italian border. Several viaducts mark the route, making the hike exciting not only for railroad fans.

The Via Spluga, one of the most famous long-distance hiking trails in the Alps, runs from the same starting point but in a completely different direction — and has done so for over two thousand years! The Romans already used this direct north-south connection and their traces are still visible today.

The Gotthard Pass is also steeped in history. Formerly an important trade route, today the main traffic takes place in the valley and in tunnels. High up on the mountain, tranquillity has returned, allowing for an enjoyable hike in a varied landscape, through legendary shoulders and with spectacular views.
