Your adventure begins in Gmund am Tegernsee, one of Bavaria’s jewels and the favorite place of many Munich residents. After a culinary introduction in the renowned Bräustüberl, the route takes you through idyllic villages such as Rottach-Egern or Kreuth. On the next day and the second stage of your hike, you will climb the Blauberge mountains on excellent trails before descending to the picturesque Achensee lake. The third day is dedicated to the impressive Tyrolean fjord. In the following days, you cross from the Spieljoch to the Loassattel and on from the Sidanjoch via the Rastkogelhütte to the Melchboden, which gives you the feeling of being in the heart of the Zillertal Alps. The crowning glory of your journey is the crossing of the main Alpine ridge at the Pfitscherjoch, from where you can already see your destination, the charming mountain town of Sterzing in South Tyrol. After you have covered more than 100 kilometers and conquered 3300 meters of ascent and 3900 meters of descent, you will reach the alpine-Mediterranean flair of South Tyrol.
