Current information.

Current travel information for your cycling or hiking tour with Feuer und Eis Touristik

Up-to-date and reliable travel information and general tips “on tour”.

Up-to-date and reliable travel information is of course part of our understanding of a responsible tour operator. We are currently not aware of any travel restrictions due to weather, pandemic or official travel warnings or similar, so nothing stands in the way of your travel experience. If the current situation requires it, we will inform you immediately with the travel documents or directly by e‑mail.

General information in case of bad weather

Please use our bad weather alternatives in your stage description (travel documents) and find out about the current situation before and during the tour on the internet, from hut owners or at your accommodation before the start of the hike. For the Tyrol region, we recommend the following (online) contact points: www.zamg.at (select the weather for the Tyrol region), www.tt.com (Tyrolean daily newspaper), radio (Radio Tirol station)

Extreme rainfall can lead to mudslides, landslides or blocked paths due to trees/debris on hiking and cycling trails. We strongly recommend that you do not continue hiking/cycling but turn back and abandon the stage.
You can usually use your guest card from the previous day to travel on public buses to the stage destination. If streams and rivers are in flood, please take special care and do not use bridges (turn back, use alternatives) — this also applies to cycle tours. If you are unsure, call our 7‑day carefree service number (in your travel documents)! We will be happy to help you.

Road closures due to past storms

In the mountains and throughout the Alps, severe storms with gale-force winds can occur and cause damage to forests. This could cause trees or parts of trees to be knocked over and uprooted and block hiking or cycling trails. As far as we are aware, we will inform you of alternative routes or detour in your stage description. If there is a storm during your tour, it is best to ask at the hotel about any closed paths and alternative routes/detours before the start of the stage. Please do not bypass road closures and respect the corresponding prohibition signs.
