On the southern side of the Alps, the leisurely Drau Cycle Path runs for 510 km from Dobbiaco in South Tyrol to Varazdin in Croatia along the river of the same name, the Drava. On the section from Dobbiaco to Lake Klopeiner See, you cycle along the Austrian part of the long-distance cycle route in Carinthia. Southern serenity and joie de vivre, cultural wealth and authentic cuisine await you on the route through southern Carinthia. Various lakes along the way invite you to rest and swim. The Drau Cycle Path starts spectacularly in the middle of the Dolomites not far from the world-famous “Three Peaks”. The route of the cycle path leads through rural cultural landscapes and small villages, past Lienz, Spittal an der Drau, Villach and Ferlach/St.Margareten. The ADFC (Allgemeiner Deutscher Fahrrad-Club) has awarded the Austrian section of the Drau cycle path the highest rating of 5 stars. Further information on the award can be found here.
