What does the mini­mum num­ber of par­ti­ci­pan­ts mean?

To ensu­re opti­mal qua­li­ty of ser­vice and smooth ope­ra­ti­on at an afforda­ble pri­ce, most of our tours are based on a mini­mum num­ber of par­ti­ci­pan­ts, which is spe­ci­fied in the respec­ti­ve tour description.
The mini­mum num­ber of par­ti­ci­pan­ts does not need to be met per booking.
If this num­ber is not rea­ched, we will inform you at least 4 weeks befo­re the tour starts about pos­si­ble alter­na­ti­ves or can­cel­la­ti­on (see also GTC: https://www.feuer-eis-touristik.de/agb).

Can I spe­ci­fy a die­ta­ry preference?

During the online boo­king pro­cess, your die­ta­ry pre­fe­ren­ces will also be reques­ted. We will for­ward this non-bin­ding die­ta­ry request (vege­ta­ri­an, vegan, lac­to­se into­le­rance, etc.) to all hotels. Plea­se note that addi­tio­nal cos­ts may have to be paid direct­ly on site. 

How does the lug­ga­ge trans­fer work?

For all indi­vi­du­al and gui­ded tours ‘inclu­ding lug­ga­ge trans­fer’, we con­ve­ni­ent­ly trans­port your lug­ga­ge from hotel to hotel.
You the­r­e­fo­re hike only with a light day­pack, and upon arri­val at the next hotel, your suit­ca­se will alre­a­dy be wai­ting for you (from 4:00 PM). When che­cking out of the hotel, plea­se lea­ve your lug­ga­ge at the recep­ti­on by 9:00 AM at the latest – our lug­ga­ge trans­fer part­ner will then take it to your next accommodation. 

What are the lug­ga­ge regulations?

For our tours, gene­ral­ly only 1 pie­ce of lug­ga­ge per per­son with a maxi­mum of 20 kg is allo­wed. Should the lug­ga­ge be hea­vier, we reser­ve the right to char­ge an addi­tio­nal fee.
We are hap­py to offer the opti­on of boo­king the trans­port of addi­tio­nal lug­ga­ge for an extra charge.

Can I tra­vel to the next hotel with the lug­ga­ge trans­fer if I want to take a break?

For insu­rance reasons, we can­not trans­port peo­p­le with our lug­ga­ge trans­fer service.

Can I go hiking with my dog?

On some of our hiking trips, your four-leg­ged fri­ends are wel­co­me. All tours that are pos­si­ble with a dog are mark­ed with a small paw print. 

Can I can­cel due to bad weather?

Yes, howe­ver, can­cel­la­ti­on fees will app­ly accor­ding to our GTC, which are nor­mal­ly not reim­bur­sed by tra­vel can­cel­la­ti­on insurance.
We also offer a “bad wea­ther alter­na­ti­ve” for some stages.
If a hike is not pos­si­ble due to bad wea­ther or snow­fall, we recom­mend con­ti­nuing to the next hotel by public transport.

Can I book an exten­si­on at the start or end point at short notice?

We would be hap­py to book addi­tio­nal nights for you befo­re or after the tour, pro­vi­ded the hotels still have availability.

When will I recei­ve the boo­king confirmation/invoice for my trip?

As soon as you have boo­ked the trip, our tra­vel spe­cia­lists will start boo­king the hotels.
To ensu­re opti­mal orga­niza­ti­on, we await indi­vi­du­al hotel con­fir­ma­ti­ons befo­re sen­ding you the boo­king con­fir­ma­ti­on. After boo­king your trip, you can the­r­e­fo­re relax until you recei­ve the boo­king con­fir­ma­ti­on within appro­xi­m­ate­ly two weeks. 

What pay­ment opti­ons do I have?

For all our trips, you can choo­se whe­ther you would like to pay by bank trans­fer or cre­dit card.
Cre­dit card pay­ments are pro­ces­sed via an exter­nal pay­ment pro­vi­der, ensu­ring com­pli­ance with data pro­tec­tion regu­la­ti­ons. Once pay­ment is due, you will recei­ve a pay­ment link from us via email. 

When is the down pay­ment for the trip due?

As soon as you recei­ve the boo­king confirmation/invoice by email, a down pay­ment of 20% of the tour pri­ce is due.
The remai­ning pay­ment of 80% is due up to 4 weeks befo­re arrival.
The exact pay­ment dates, as well as the amounts and bank details, are lis­ted on all our invoices.

Is the­re a pack­ing list that I can use for guidance? 

Yes, at https://www.feuer-eis-touristik.de/ausruestungsliste you will find an equip­ment list with all important items that you should­n’t for­get for your Alpi­ne crossing.

What do I do if I have to can­cel the trip?

If you are unable to start the trip, we requi­re imme­dia­te writ­ten noti­fi­ca­ti­on (by email). We will then can­cel the rooms or, if appli­ca­ble, the enti­re boo­king accor­ding to our GTC and send you the can­cel­la­ti­on fee state­ment. What do I do if I fall ill during the trip and can­not con­ti­nue hiking?

We requi­re imme­dia­te writ­ten noti­fi­ca­ti­on from you if you have to can­cel the trip for health reasons. If you have tra­vel insu­rance, you should visit a doc­tor at your cur­rent loca­ti­on during the trip to obtain a medi­cal cer­ti­fi­ca­te and have cos­ts for unu­sed ser­vices reim­bur­sed by your insurance. 

Is tra­vel can­cel­la­ti­on insu­rance alre­a­dy included?

No, we would be hap­py to add this for you. You can find more infor­ma­ti­on at www.feuer-eis-touristik.de/reiseversicherung. Exclu­si­ve­ly with Feu­er und Eis, all our trips include moun­tain res­cue cover. This is a tra­vel acci­dent insu­rance. Does every tra­ve­ler recei­ve tra­vel documents?

Our tra­vel docu­ments are pro­vi­ded once per room. If you would like mul­ti­ple copies, we char­ge 20 EUR per package. 

I boo­ked the opti­on wit­hout lug­ga­ge trans­fer. Can I spon­ta­neous­ly add lug­ga­ge trans­fer or half board? 

This is gene­ral­ly not pos­si­ble. Sub­ject to our reboo­king fees as per our GTC, you can rebook to our opti­on inclu­ding lug­ga­ge trans­fer, depen­ding on availability.

from 29 to 15 days befo­re depar­tu­re 50%
from 14 to 8 days befo­re depar­tu­re 70%
from 7 to 3 days befo­re depar­tu­re 80%
from 2 days befo­re depar­tu­re up to the day of depar­tu­re or in case of no-show 90% of the tour price;
