Your travel documents for your individual hiking or cycling tour with fire and ice (own tours) usually include a detailed stage route description as well as maps in classic paper format, which we send to you approx. 2–3 weeks before the start of the tour in your travel document bag (bike tours: handlebar bag) by DHL post parcel. These documents are carefully prepared by us, have been tried and tested over many years and guarantee problem-free orientation for your individual tour without having to resort to mobile GPS data navigation.
In addition, we will also provide you with our travel documents digitally (PDF format) approx. 5 weeks before the start of the tour — you will receive an e‑mail with access data for our online customer area (if not done when booking, registration is required). All parts of the travel documents and all GPS data for each stage are available for download there and can therefore be viewed on your smartphone at any time and also on tour (the itinerary with hotel list may only be available online when the travel documents are sent 2–3 weeks before the start of the tour).
In addition to the GPS data download via the digital travel documents, you will also find a QR code in the respective (paper) stage description for some tours, which will take you directly to the appropriate day’s stage in the Komoot navigation app.
In addition, further down on this page we offer the option of downloading the GPS data for selected tours in ZIP format (all stages). We recommend using a PC or laptop for this download.
If the download does not work with your device, please send us an e‑mail to info@feuer-eis-touristik.de. We will be happy to provide you with the GPS data for each stage individually by e‑mail attachment.
Due to the large number of different devices, we are also unable to offer individual technical support for app use or installation — we ask for your understanding.
GPS/GPX data is provided free of charge for use with common navigation apps (e.g. Komoot, Outdooractive, Bergfex, Kompass). Any costs for app downloads or functions are not included in the tour price.
Note on the file format: The GPS data is only available in the standardized GPX format. This can only be opened and used with suitable navigation apps — it cannot be displayed in Word or PDF.
Our GPS tracks usually end at the stage destination (town center). Please refer to the hotel voucher for the exact route to your accommodation or use Google Maps (pedestrian mode).
Neither GPS data nor stage descriptions are required for participants on guided hiking tours. Our trained hiking guides will accompany you safely through each stage and are always available as contact persons.
The difficulty rating automatically calculated by Komoot may differ from our internal tour classification. The information in our stage description is decisive.
If you would like GPS-GPX data for another tour from our program, please send us an e‑mail to info@feuer-eis-touristik.de. Please include the name of the tour and your booking number. We will be happy to send you the GPS data for each stage individually as an e‑mail attachment.
