The Jurast­eig is an impres­si­ve cir­cu­lar hiking trail that winds its way through the idyl­lic land­scape of the Bava­ri­an Jura for 237 km. On 13 careful­ly plan­ned stages, the rou­te leads through breath­ta­king natu­ral land­scapes and varied ter­rain, from the gent­le hills of the Jura heights to the unspoi­led river land­scapes of the Naab, Vils, Lau­ter­ach and Alt­mühl. This uni­que hiking trail invi­tes you on a jour­ney of dis­co­very, whe­re you can not only enjoy the beau­tiful natu­re, but also immer­se yours­elf in the cul­tu­ral heri­ta­ge of the regi­on. On your way, you will encoun­ter medieval cast­les, magni­fi­cent monas­te­ries and impres­si­ve cliffs as you hike along pine forests, juni­per heaths and beech forests. The Jura Trail delights with an abun­dance of natu­ral beau­ty, from Medi­ter­ra­ne­an-style karst land­scapes to spe­ci­es-rich river val­leys. With its well thought-out infra­struc­tu­re, the Jura Trail ensu­res that your hiking expe­ri­ence is a com­ple­te suc­cess: Natu­ral paths, clear and under­stan­da­ble sign­pos­ting in both direc­tions and num­e­rous places to stop for refresh­ments make every stage a plea­su­re.
