Our Con­tri­bu­ti­on to Respon­si­ble Tra­vel Expe­ri­en­ces in Nature

As an orga­ni­zer of acti­ve natu­re tours, it is par­ti­cu­lar­ly important to us to pro­tect and care for the land­scapes and regi­ons we visit, and to pre­ser­ve them for future tra­ve­lers. That is why we make a point of sup­port­ing local com­mu­ni­ties and mini­mi­zing our envi­ron­men­tal impact when­ever possible. 

Here’s what we’­re actual­ly doing:

Tra­ve­li­fe

We are a mem­ber of Tra­ve­li­fe and are working step by step toward mee­ting inter­na­tio­nal sus­taina­bi­li­ty stan­dards. We aim to obtain “Tra­ve­li­fe Part­ner” cer­ti­fi­ca­ti­on by 2027. 

Regio­nal purchases

We make our purcha­ses local­ly and work with regio­nal partners.

Sup­port for associations

We sup­port the Berg­wald­pro­jekt e.V. with a dona­ti­on of 5 euros per boo­king. In addi­ti­on, we have sup­port­ed the Wil­des Bay­ern e.V. orga­niza­ti­on in the past through a fund­rai­sing cam­paign and free advertising. 

Sen­ding the Tra­vel Documents

We ship our tra­vel docu­ments via DHL GoGreen. DHL off­sets the trans­por­ta­ti­on-rela­ted CO2e emis­si­ons gene­ra­ted by ship­ping through invest­ments in cli­ma­te pro­tec­tion projects. 

Bund­ling of transfers

We try to con­so­li­da­te trans­fer trips (lug­ga­ge or pas­sen­ger trans­fers) as much as pos­si­ble. This allows us to com­bi­ne mul­ti­ple trips and avo­id unneces­sa­ry indi­vi­du­al trips. 

Sel­ec­ted Hotel Partnerships

When careful­ly sel­ec­ting our hotel part­ners, we also pay atten­ti­on to the sus­taina­bi­li­ty mea­su­res they com­mu­ni­ca­te and imple­ment, and, when­ever pos­si­ble, we work with part­ners who can demons­tra­te con­cre­te sus­taina­bi­li­ty initiatives.

Digi­tal Tour Program

As of 2023, we no lon­ger offer a prin­ted tra­vel cata­log; ins­tead, we pre­sent our full ran­ge of offe­rings exclu­si­ve­ly in digi­tal form on our website.

Mea­su­res in the Office

At our Rot­tach-Egern loca­ti­on on Lake Tegern­see, we use green elec­tri­ci­ty. We also rely on reusable mate­ri­als: the rest­rooms are equip­ped with washa­ble towels for dry­ing hands, and we get our drin­king water straight from the tap, car­bo­na­ting it our­sel­ves as needed. 

Com­pa­ny bicycles

Com­pa­ny bicy­cles are available for our employees to use free of charge.
