The country’s specialties, such as fondue, rösti and typical Swiss chocolate, are practically waiting to be tasted by you.
At the heart of Switzerland as a vacation destination lies the famous capital city of Bern, whose old town was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site several years ago. However, the cityscape is still characterized by special sights, such as the Federal Palace in the middle of the city center. This imposing building is the seat of the Swiss government and parliament and also impresses with its unique water features with a total of 26 fountains. Bern’s local mountain, the “Gurten”, is also a very popular excursion destination and offers a fantastic view over the entire city. The landmark par excellence is probably the clock tower, a well-known example of medieval clockmaking.
Another very popular metropolis is the city of Zurich, known for its countless museums and shopping opportunities. The city can also be explored from the water, a boat tour opens up completely new insights and you get the opportunity to explore the neighboring Lake Zurich up close. You can also discover Zurich’s old town, which is affectionately known by the locals as the “Dörfli”.

To experience more of Switzerland’s scenic wealth, you can take a trip on the famous Bernina Express. This train travels via St. Moritz, Alp Grüm to Tirano. You will also travel over the world-famous Landwasser Viaduct, which has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2008.

The Rigi, also known as the “Queen of the Mountains”, is located on Lake Lucerne and offers a unique view of the mountain panorama and 13 lakes in the immediate vicinity. The sunrise cruise from July to September is highly recommended. The atmosphere will literally cast a spell over you.
