Dis­co­ver the water-rich Alpi­ne foot­hills of Upper Bava­ria on a tour full of glis­tening lakes, gent­le lake­si­de paths and impres­si­ve moun­tain views. Tegern­see, Schlier­see, Spit­zing­see, Achen­see and Syl­ven­stein­see — the moun­ta­ins are reflec­ted in the water ever­y­whe­re and invi­te you to lin­ger, mar­vel or even take a dip. You hike from pan­ora­ma to pan­ora­ma through bloo­ming alpi­ne mea­dows, idyl­lic val­leys and over pan­o­r­amic heights. In bet­ween, rustic moun­tain inns invi­te you to take a lei­su­re­ly break. This tour com­bi­nes a sport­ing chall­enge with a rela­xed natu­ral idyll, per­fect for anyo­ne who wants to enjoy the tran­quil beau­ty of the lakes and the vast­ness of the mountains. 

Itinerary / Stages

Indi­vi­du­al arri­val at the Tegernsee
Distanz: 0 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
Arri­ve a litt­le ear­lier and enjoy a magni­fi­cent view of Lake Tegern­see, which shim­mers light blue, emer­ald green or Carib­be­an tur­quoi­se. Enjoy the sun with a deli­cious ice cream in one of the many cafés, take a stroll along the shore or go for a swim in the lake. Lake Tegern­see has some­thing for everyone. 
Tegern­see — Schliersee
Distanz: 14 km Höhe (+): 610m Höhe (-): 600m
From the vil­la­ge of Tegern­see, you take an even more beau­tiful vari­ant of the famous Prin­zen­weg to the Neu­r­eu­thalm, Gin­del­alm and via the Kreuz­bergalm to Schliersee. 
Schlier­see — Spitzingsee
Distanz: 16 km Höhe (+): 720m Höhe (-): 410m
First, the rou­te runs along the shore of Lake Schlier­see, then fol­lows the ascent to the Freun­den­reich­alm and on to the Fir­st­al­men. After the Fir­st­al­men, the tour heads downhill towards Spitzingsee. 
Spit­zing­see — Kreuth / Rot­tach-Egern / Bad Wiessee
Distanz: 19 km Höhe (+): 460m Höhe (-): 780m
From Spit­zing­see, the rou­te leads via the Unte­re Fir­st­alm to the Sut­ten­stein and the sum­mit of the Stümpf­ling. From here, des­cend via the Sut­ten­sat­tel into the natu­ral jewel of the Sut­ten area. From the Sut­ten area, des­cend fur­ther into the val­ley, then on the pan­o­r­amic trail to Ober­hof and along the Weiß­ach to Kreuth, Rot­tach-Egern or Bad Wies­see, depen­ding on whe­re you are staying. 
Kreuth / Rot­tach-Egern / Bad Wies­see — Achenkirch
Distanz: 23 km Höhe (+): 900m Höhe (-): 790m
In the mor­ning, take the public bus to the Sie­ben­hüt­ten hiking par­king lot in Kreuth. The rou­te leads through the forest to the Gaisalm, along the ridge to the Bava­ri­an-Tyro­lean bor­der and via the Blau­bergalm on forest roads to Achen­wald and on to Achen­kirch. Shor­ten­ed vari­ant with trans­fer from Achen­wald can be sel­ec­ted fle­xi­bly on site. Lei­su­re­ly vari­ant Wild­bad Kreuth — Glas­hüt­te approx. 8.6 km — 2.5 hours — ascent approx. 81 m — des­cent approx. 22 m. 
Achen­kirch — Syl­ven­stein reser­voir / Fall
Distanz: 24 km Höhe (+): 770m Höhe (-): 940m
Today’s stage first takes you through the ori­gi­nal Kar­wen­del Alpi­ne Park. This has been a natu­re reser­ve sin­ce 1928, making it one of the oldest pro­tec­ted are­as in Euro­pe. Much of the water from the many springs and streams that bubble up in the Kar­wen­del coll­ects in the Syl­ven­stein­see lake. Today’s stage ends here in the vil­la­ge of Fall. The area is a popu­lar excur­si­on desti­na­ti­on and pho­to motif. Alter­na­ti­ve vari­ant via Wal­chen­tal approx. 12.9 km — 3.75 hours — ascent approx. 161 m — des­cent approx. 216 m. 
Syl­ven­stein reser­voir / Fall — Lenggries
Distanz: 22 km Höhe (+): 270m Höhe (-): 370m
From Fall along the Syl­ven­stein reser­voir via the Schron­bach val­ley and the Rohr­moos­bach val­ley past streams and through forests to Leger and fur­ther along the Isar to Lenggries.
Leng­gries — Tegernsee
Distanz: 17 km Höhe (+): 640m Höhe (-): 590m
Start the last stage and hike towards Sti­ckel-Alm and the Hirsch­tal­sat­tel to Söll­bach. From the­re, fol­low the wild and roman­tic stream to Bad Wies­see on the beau­tiful Tegernsee.

Arri­val
By car: Coming from the north on the A8 to Holz­kir­chen and then via the B318 to the Tegern­see val­ley. From the south via Achen­see and the B181, then the B307 to Tegern­see. BY PLANE: The nea­rest inter­na­tio­nal air­ports are: Munich (approx. 85 km), Salz­burg (approx. 115 km), Inns­bruck (approx. 90 km). We will be hap­py to orga­ni­ze your trans­fer from the air­port to your accom­mo­da­ti­on. TRAIN: To Munich and onward jour­ney with the BRB to Tegern­see, bus or cab to the hotel. 
Tour cha­rac­ter
This tour requi­res sure­foo­ted­ness and a good basic level of fit­ness with 5–8 hours of wal­king per day. You hike on good hiking trails. The­re are no expo­sed sections. 
Other notes
To ensu­re a stress-free start to the trip, we recom­mend arri­ving at the start­ing point by ear­ly evening in most cases. Some tours start as ear­ly as mid­day, in which case we recom­mend arri­ving the day befo­re and will be hap­py to book an extra night for you at the same time. The indi­vi­du­al return jour­ney takes place on the last day of the tour. The kilo­me­ters are appro­xi­ma­te and may dif­fer from the actu­al kilo­me­ters cover­ed. This tour is not sui­ta­ble for peo­p­le with redu­ced mobility.

If the mini­mum num­ber of par­ti­ci­pan­ts is not rea­ched, we reser­ve the right to can­cel the trip up to four weeks befo­re the date of arri­val.
