Around the Zugspitze

It was a very plea­sant tour, easy to walk and with beau­tiful views, the lug­ga­ge was always in front of me in the hotel and the food (I had boo­ked half board) was also very good, but as an expe­ri­en­ced solo tra­ve­ler I am used to a lot, but unfort­u­na­te­ly I have to add that I felt trea­ted as a second class guest in one of the accom­mo­da­ti­ons. I was allo­ca­ted a room on the first flo­or with win­dows over­loo­king the beer gar­den, high­way and train sta­ti­on. Unfort­u­na­te­ly, the­re was no ques­ti­on of a good nigh­t’s sleep. When I saw “sil­ver­fi­sh” in the sink during the mor­ning toi­let the next day, my mood hit rock bot­tom. Unfort­u­na­te­ly, the “boss” of the hotel show­ed no insight and recom­men­ded that I com­plain to the orga­ni­zer.  For the sake of com­ple­ten­ess, I would like to add that all the other hotels and guest­hou­ses (espe­ci­al­ly in Aus­tria) were very well-kept and quiet, with fri­end­ly and hel­pful staff.

A gre­at tour, which we boo­ked tog­e­ther in the charm ver­si­on. The indi­vi­du­al hikes were well cho­sen and well descri­bed. The ever-chan­ging pan­ora­mas were par­ti­cu­lar­ly fasci­na­ting: From the view into the distance, to the moun­ta­ins very clo­se by. The so-cal­led rest day was good and could be used for excur­si­ons in the sur­roun­ding area; even a detour to Inns­bruck would have been pos­si­ble. The hotels were sel­ec­ted hou­ses of the charm varie­ty and the din­ner boo­ked in half board was con­sis­t­ent­ly con­vin­cing. Howe­ver, as a group of three indi­vi­du­al tra­ve­lers, we (again) had to expe­ri­ence here and the­re that when boo­king sin­gle rooms, you get the impres­si­on of being ser­ved with rooms that are some­ti­mes rather below avera­ge. That is a pity in any case.
