Feuer und Eis partner tour

Around the Zugspitze

from 879,- per person

The Zugspitze, Germany’s highest mountain at 2,962 m, is one of the most famous mountain destinations in the Alps and can be easily climbed by cable car. On your hiking week, you will circle the Zugspitze, getting to know all the views and heading for wonderful hiking destinations along the way. Crossing the gorges, which are very impressive with their masses of water and heights, is adventurous and sensational. Enjoy the romance of the alpine landscapes and take time for a typical Bavarian snack. There are beautiful villages on both sides of the Wetterstein mountains, which are particularly suitable for quiet overnight stays. So let’s go.

Itinerary / Stages

Individual arrival in Garmisch-Partenkirchen
Distanz: 0 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
Arrive relaxed in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and enjoy the first few hours at the foot of the Zugspitze.
Garmisch — Mittenwald/Klais — Partnachklamm Gorge
Distanz: 16 km Höhe (+): 640m Höhe (-): 430m
Start your hiking day in a wild and romantic way through the Partnachklamm gorge, where the water masses of the Wetterstein mountains meet. Your path then leads you over gentle hills and alpine meadows to Klais or Mittenwald.
Mittenwald/Klais — Leutasch — Leutasch valley
Distanz: 14 km Höhe (+): 220m Höhe (-): 30m
The paths through the gorge were carved directly into the rock with great precision and bold footbridges run up to 40 meters above the water. You then take a relaxed stroll along the Leutascher Ache into the valley. You walk past small villages and flower meadows framed by the Wetterstein mountains into the widening Leutasch valley.
Rest day or circular hike
Distanz: 11 km Höhe (+): 350m Höhe (-): 350m
Today you can relax or go on a hike to the most beautiful places in the area. Hike along the Way of St. James to the panoramic view at the Ropferstubn or climb up to the viewing lodge on the Brunschkopf. Take a leisurely stroll around the Weidachsee lake or up to the rustic Wildmoosalm.
Leutasch — Ehrwald — Gaistal nature paradise
Distanz: 17 km Höhe (+): 440m Höhe (-): 290m
Short bus ride to the Gaistal. The alpine summer in the Gaistal is a dream, especially for the Haflinger, brown and gray cattle and the Scottish Galloway cattle. You follow the Ganghofer Weg into the alpine pastures and up to the transition to the Ehrwalder Alm. A backdrop that looks as if it was commissioned for a local movie and was once the retreat of Bavarian writer Ludwig Ganghofer. The cable car takes you down into the valley and on to Ehrwald.
Ehrwald — Garmisch — Eibsee
Distanz: 12 km Höhe (+): 540m Höhe (-): 510m
Step by step, you hike up to the foothills of the Zugspitze and the famous Eibsee view. The tour ends at the lovely Eibsee lake with a view of the magnificent Zugspitze-Garmisch panorama. Take the Zugspitzbahn back to Garmisch.
