During your cross-coun­try ski­ing tour through the various val­leys of Alta Pus­te­ria, you will admi­re the impo­sing moun­tain mas­sif of the Ses­to Dolo­mi­tes and the world-famous Three Peaks UNESCO World Heri­ta­ge Site. On your tour into the Val Fis­ca­li­na, your gaze will wan­der to the natu­ral spec­ta­cle of the Ses­to sun­di­al. You will expe­ri­ence the sun­ny Casies Val­ley, the breath­ta­kin­gly beau­tiful Brai­es Val­ley and the tran­quil­li­ty of the unspoilt high pla­teau of Pra­to Piaz­za 2,000 meters abo­ve sea level. You usual­ly start direct­ly from the hotel on the cross-coun­try ski trail and the­r­e­fo­re do not need long transfers.

The per­fect­ly groo­med trail leads across mea­dows, fields and through snow-cover­ed win­ter forests from Alta Pus­te­ria via San Can­di­do to the moun­tai­nee­ring vil­la­ge of Ses­to. Par­ti­cu­lar­ly hard-working cross-coun­try ski­ers can extend the tour with a detour across the Aus­tri­an bor­der to Sil­li­an in good snow conditions. 
Round tour Ses­to — Val Fiscalina

The trail through the idyl­lic Val Fis­ca­li­na in Ses­to is undoub­ted­ly one of the most scenic in the Dolo­mi­tes. The rug­ged Dolo­mi­te peaks of the Ses­to Sun­di­al with the Zeh­ner, Elfer, Zwöl­fer and Ein­ser seem clo­se enough to touch. Enjoy a fan­ta­stic view, a hot cap­puc­ci­no and deli­cious South Tyro­lean spe­cial­ties at the Talschlusshütte. 
Ses­to — Val­le di Braies/Plätzwiese

You walk along the Ses­to stream through the den­se spruce forest back to San Can­di­do, the cul­tu­ral cen­ter of Alta Pus­te­ria at the foot of Mon­te Baran­ci. In Tob­lach you pass the Nor­dic Are­na cross-coun­try ski­ing cen­ter and then gli­de over wide snow fields, past the beau­tiful vil­la­ge of Nie­der­dorf, into the unspoilt Prags­er­tal val­ley. Final­ly, the shut­tle bus takes you to the hotel on the uni­que Pra­to Piaz­za high plateau. 
Pra­to Piaz­za cir­cu­lar trail and snow­shoe hike to the Strudelkopf

Today’s cross-coun­try ski­ing day is dedi­ca­ted to explo­ring the famous Hoch­pa­teau. At the foot of the Hohe Gaisl and the Dür­ren­stein, you can lea­ve your tracks in the snow on the cir­cu­lar trail. You also have the opti­on of taking a snow­shoe hike to the Stru­del­kopf. On a clear day, you can enjoy an unfor­gettable pan­o­r­amic view of the Ses­to and Ampez­zo Dolomites. 
Val Casies Val­ley — Villabassa/Dobbiaco

In the mor­ning, you will be trans­fer­red from Pra­to Piaz­za to Monguelfo/Gsies. You walk along the wide, sun­ny val­ley flo­or through dre­a­my win­ter land­scapes and past pic­tures­que farm­hou­ses through the val­ley. Inns along the rou­te invi­te you to stop for a bite to eat. Depen­ding on your mood, you can walk back to Mon­guel­fo and from the­re con­ti­nue across the fields to Vil­la­bassa or Dob­bia­co. Alter­na­tively, you can shor­ten the stage by public transport. 
Villabassa/Toblach — Cor­ti­na dAm­pez­zo / Höh­len­stein Valley
Distanz: 10 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
Start­ing from the Nor­dic Are­na cross-coun­try ski­ing cen­ter, whe­re the worl­d’s best cross-coun­try ski­ers com­pe­te for important World Cup points every year on the chal­len­ging cir­cu­lar trails, you walk along the rou­te of the for­mer Dolo­mi­te Rail­way into the Höh­len­stein Val­ley. You can deci­de whe­ther to stop for apple stru­del and cof­fee at Lake Tob­lach, con­ti­nue to the Three Peaks view and take a look at the land­mark of the Dolo­mi­tes, or even visit the Queen of the Dolo­mi­tes, Cor­ti­na dAm­pez­zo, through seve­ral tun­nels and over an old rail­road bridge. The return jour­ney is pos­si­ble by public transport.

By car: Via the Bren­ner high­way (A22) to Bri­xen, exit Fran­zens­fes­te, Pus­ter­tal — through the Pus­ter­tal (sta­te road SS49) to Nie­der­dorf or Tob­lach, depen­ding on the arri­val hotel or via the Fel­ber­tau­ern road to Lienz in East Tyrol and on to Ita­ly in the Hoch­pus­ter­tal (Nie­der­dorf or Tob­lach, depen­ding on the arri­val hotel). By train: To Inns­bruck via the Bren­ner Pass to Fran­zens­fes­te. From here to Alta Pus­te­ria (train sta­ti­on Vil­la­bassa or Dob­bia­co, depen­ding on your hotel of depar­tu­re). Time­ta­bles at: www.deutschebahn.de, www.oebb.at, www.trenitalia.com. By pla­ne: Low cost flights to Tre­vi­so Air­port, Venice Mar­co Polo. On request, we can orga­ni­ze trans­fers from the air­port to the start­ing point of the tour. 
Rou­te character
The rou­te has been desi­gned so that it is fea­si­ble for less expe­ri­en­ced cross-coun­try ski­ers as well as spor­ty cross-coun­try ski­ers. The­re are seve­ral dif­fe­rent vari­ants every day and the indi­vi­du­al dai­ly stages can be indi­vi­du­al­ly adapt­ed, exten­ded and leng­the­ned. You will be given detail­ed infor­ma­ti­on about this in the intro­duc­to­ry talk at the start of the tour. The trails are sui­ta­ble for both clas­sic and free tech­ni­que (ska­ting).
Other notes
To ensu­re a stress-free start to the trip, we recom­mend arri­ving at the start­ing point by ear­ly evening in most cases. Some tours start as ear­ly as mid­day, in which case we recom­mend arri­ving the day befo­re and will be hap­py to book an extra night for you at the same time. The indi­vi­du­al return jour­ney takes place on the last day of the tour. The kilo­me­ters are appro­xi­ma­te and may dif­fer from the actu­al kilo­me­ters cover­ed. This tour is not sui­ta­ble for peo­p­le with redu­ced mobility. 
Mini­mum num­ber of participants
If a mini­mum num­ber of par­ti­ci­pan­ts is requi­red for the tour to take place, this is sta­ted under Pri­ces and ser­vices. If the mini­mum num­ber of par­ti­ci­pan­ts is not rea­ched, we reser­ve the right to can­cel the trip up to four weeks befo­re the date of arri­val. We recom­mend that you do not orga­ni­ze your arri­val and depar­tu­re until after this dead­line has passed.
