This cycle tour takes you on a jour­ney of dis­co­very through the Friu­li-Vene­zia Giu­lia regi­on. The start and finish point is Udi­ne, the second lar­gest city in the regi­on. Along the way, you will cycle through the cha­rac­te­ristic towns of Spi­lim­ber­go with its famous mosaic school, Gra­do and Tri­es­te, the capi­tal of the region.

Itinerary / Stages

Day 1
Arri­val in Udine
Distanz: 0 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
Indi­vi­du­al arri­val in Udi­ne. Once you have sett­led in, you can visit the city and enjoy a Taj — a good glass of wine. 
Day 2
Udi­ne — Spilimbergo 
Distanz: 30 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
After break­fast, you make your way to Spi­lim­ber­go, the city of mosaics with its school whe­re stu­dents from all over the world learn this anci­ent art. Along the rou­te today you will encoun­ter the Taglia­men­to, the most important river in Friu­li, for the first time. After crossing it, you cycle on towards Lake Corn­i­no. The lake is loca­ted in the natu­re reser­ve of the same name, whe­re you can mar­vel at grif­fon vul­tures. From Lake Corn­i­no you reach the desti­na­ti­on of today’s stage. 
Day 3
Spi­lim­ber­go — Pordenone
Distanz: 30 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
Today you lea­ve the city of the mosaic behind you and cycle towards Por­de­none. This town on the River Novel­lo is known as the birth­place of Gio­van­ni Anto­nio de Sac­chis, the famous Renais­sance pain­ter, and has been cho­sen as the Capi­tal of Cul­tu­re for 2027. 
Day 4
Por­de­none — Mara­no — Aquileia
Distanz: 75 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
You start today’s stage in the direc­tion of Mara­no Lag­una­re. You cycle south until you reach the Taglia­men­to, the most important river in the Friu­li Vene­zia Giu­lia regi­on. Once you arri­ve in Mara­no, take the boat and cycle the last few kilo­me­ters to Aqui­leia. The Roman basi­li­ca, a UNESCO World Heri­ta­ge Site, is well worth a visit. 
Day 5
Aqui­leia — Sistiana 
Distanz: 30 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
Today you lea­ve Aqui­leia and cycle along the lagoon towards the Juli­an coast. You will pass through small vil­la­ges in the Mon­fal­co­ne area until you reach the small town of Sis­tia­na. On the way, we recom­mend a stop at the Ison­zo estua­ry natu­re reser­ve and Dui­no Castle. 
Day 6
Sis­tia­na: rest day or round trip to Trieste
Distanz: 75 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
Sis­tia­na is known for its bay with peb­b­le bea­ches. Today you have two opti­ons: spend a day rela­xing under the sun or take a bike ride to Tri­es­te. You reach the capi­tal of the regi­on by cycling along the coas­tal road. Once in the city, you can visit the cen­ter or con­ti­nue on the Cot­tur cycle path, from which you can enjoy a magni­fi­cent view of the city­’s gulf. 
Day 7
Sis­tia­na — Udine
Distanz: 60 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
After lea­ving Sis­tia­na, you begin your return to Udi­ne. Today you cycle through the Col­lio Gori­zia­no with its viney­ards. On the way you will pass through the vil­la­ges of Gra­dis­ca dIson­zo and Cor­mons, whe­re we recom­mend you take a break to tas­te the famous wines of the Collio.

If the mini­mum num­ber of par­ti­ci­pan­ts is not rea­ched, we reser­ve the right to can­cel the trip up to four weeks befo­re the date of arri­val. We recom­mend that you do not orga­ni­ze your arri­val and depar­tu­re until after this dead­line has passed.
