Feuer und Eis partner tour

Dolomites — Alta Via

from 929,- per person

This hiking trail leads through three language areas and the cultures associated with them: starting from the German-speaking Pustertal Valley, it runs through the Ladin Fanes region; in Cortina, the Italian language finally dominates. Trenches and deep tunnels along the route bear witness to the fact that the border between these areas was bitterly fought over during the First World War. In addition to the visible traces of the former so-called Alpine front, which can be seen today in an open-air museum, this hiking trail offers the best opportunity to get to know this bizarre wonderland in all its facets: extraordinary scenic beauty, magnificent views, wonderful hiking trails, pure adventure — a treat for every mountain lover!

In the shadow of the imposing Seekofel massif, you reach the Fojedöra high alpine pasture. Stop for a bite to eat and enjoy the homemade bread and tasty alpine cheese. Hike through the secluded high valley past the high alpine lake and finally reach the highest point. Far down in the valley you can already see the villages of Val Badia.

The Peitlerkofel is enthroned on the opposite side. Continue hiking to the Ritjoch. The mighty flanks of the Heiligkreuzkofel are always in view. At the foot of the Neuner and Zehnerspitze peaks, you reach the Heiligkreuz refuge. After a short descent, take the comfortable train to Abtei. At the end of the hike, take a transfer to San Cassiano.

This circular hike takes you from San Cassiano/St. Kassian up to Piz Sorega and on across alpine meadows, where you will find numerous places to stop for refreshments with local specialties. You walk towards Pralongià and finally back to San Cassiano/St. Kassian.

In the shadow of the majestic Fanes and Conturines peaks, you hike to the Scottoni refuge and on to the crystal-clear Lagazuoi lake at the foot of the Scottoni peak, whose waters reflect the bizarre peaks of the Fanes Dolomites. You hike along the Dolomites High Trail to Lagazuoi, which was turned into a veritable fortress with tunnels and trenches by soldiers during the First World War. It is possible to take the cable car directly from the summit to the Falzarego Pass and continue by bus to Cortina. Hike below the Tofane to Pocol and from there take the bus to Cortina.

A fantastic panorama at the highest point will soon make you forget the effort of the ascent. Then it’s almost all downhill through the idyllic Val Padeon to the end of the stage in Ospitale. You then take the bus back to Alta Pusteria.
