Dolomites Nature Park Hike

from 929,- per person

Experience nature in the Dolomites. Idyllic mountain lakes, lush alpine meadows, green forests and the legendary Dolomites accompany you on your hike through three nature parks. It is not for nothing that the Dolomites have been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Lake Braies greets you at the start, its crystal-clear waters reflecting the walls of the Seekofel. All those who believe that nothing can top this experience will be proven wrong as soon as their gaze wanders high above Cortina over some of the most imposing Dolomite peaks. The Cristallo group, the Tofane and the Fanes group vie for the viewer’s attention. Of course, a detour to the Three Peaks is a must.

Itinerary / Stages

Arrival in Alta Pusteria (Villabassa/Toblach)
Distanz: 0 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
Individual arrival at the starting hotel in Alta Pusteria. Free unguarded public parking available near the hotel.
Alta Pusteria — Braies Valley — Prato Piazza
Distanz: 14 km Höhe (+): 1100m Höhe (-): 580m
Your hiking tour begins at the idyllic Lake Braies, which enchants visitors above all with its crystal-clear water. The trail takes you across the high plateau to the Rossalm and on to the Prato Piazza. In addition to nature and tranquillity, you can enjoy stunning views of Monte Cristallo, the Tofana and the world-famous Three Peaks. More leisurely hikers can opt for the variant where you take the transfer to the Tuscherhof inn and start your hike from there. Today you hike along the Stollabach stream past the Brückele inn, the Stolla hut of the same name and the rock formations (erosion phenomena created by the constant action of water and the different composition of the rock) to your stage destination.
Prato Piazza — Strudelkopf or Dürrenstein
Distanz: 9 km Höhe (+): 360m Höhe (-): 360m
The starting point for today’s stage is the Plätzwiese high alpine pasture, which, along with the Hohe Gaisl and the Kreuzkofel group, is one of the most popular hiking areas in the country; this region is particularly attractive to visitors due to its extraordinary flora and wild lakes. In the Fanes Sennes Braies Nature Park, the largest nature park in the Dolomites, you can choose between two options. Starting from Prato Piazza, you can either reach the Strudelkopf (shorter option) or the Dürrenstein (longer option). Both variants offer you a unique view of the Hohe Gaisl, the Three Peaks, the Tofana and Monte Cristallo.
Prato Piazza — Knappenfuss Valley — Passo Tre Croci — Cortina dAmpezzo
Distanz: 5 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 460m
You hike through the Prato Piazza and descend through the Knappenfuss valley to the area on the border between South Tyrol and the province of Belluno. From there you have two options: either the direct route to Cortina dAmpezzo by public transport or the slightly longer option to Ospitale and on to Passo Tre Croci. Shortcut option with the Son Forca cable car (not included).
Circular hike; Faloria cable car (ticket incl.)
Distanz: 11 km Höhe (+): 660m Höhe (-): 540m
The panorama from the starting point of the stage is simply stunning. The mighty rock giants of the Ampezzo Dolomites rise high into the sky; Monte Cristallo and the Cristallo group, the Tofane and the Fanes group are the main protagonists of this spectacle. There are two tours to choose from: a slightly longer tour towards Forcella Faloria or the variant via the Dolomieutrail. Both take you towards Passo Tre Croci, the descent to the Olympic town of Cortina follows the same route. Let yourself be enchanted by the natural beauty of the fascinating surroundings and the imposing Dolomite peaks. If you don’t want to take the cable car, you can do a beautiful circular hike at the Cinque Torri.
Cortina Dreizinnenblick — Three Peaks Val Fiscalina
Distanz: 12 km Höhe (+): 120m Höhe (-): 1000m
In the morning, take the public bus to the Dreizinnenblick. From the Dreizinnenblick you hike over the Rienzböden and through the Rienz Valley up to the Three Peaks, the landmark of the Dolomites. The Three Peaks are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Continue your hike to the famous Dreizinnenhütte. From there, the route takes you below the Paternkofel, which was fought over during the First World War (the legendary mountain guide Sepp Innerkofler lost his life here), into the Fischlein Valley. From Val Fiscalina take the bus to Dobbiaco. As an alternative, you can hike from Dreizinnenblick up to the Three Peaks and to Rifugio Auronzo and from there take the bus to Dobbiaco.
