Enchanting Upper Black Forest — between Schluchsee and Feldberg

from 1.009,- per person

The Black Forest is an impressive region: panoramic peaks alternate with deep valleys and dark blue mountain lakes. This region has something magical about it and is one of the most beautiful hiking destinations in Germany. The first stages take you from Titisee up to Feldberg, the highest peak in the Black Forest. The route continues through the winter sports resort of Todtnauberg into the beautiful high valley of Bernau. The tour takes you through quiet mountain valleys to the shores of Lake Schluchsee until you finally reach the starting point of your hiking week at Lake Titisee.

The route continues via Behabühl to Seebach before climbing steeply again. The Silberbergweg takes you to the Mathisleweiher pond, a dreamlike idyll in the middle of the forest. Afterwards, beautiful hiking trails lead you down to tranquil Hinterzarten.
Hinterzarten — Feldberg
Distanz: 15 km Höhe (+): 675m Höhe (-): 205m
On beautiful hiking trails, you climb up to the Windeck viewpoint and on to the popular Milchhisli drinks station, right next to the farmer. The route continues through dense forest to the Ramartihof farm, where you can take a break in the beer garden. Now hike to the Feldsee lake with its circular dark blue water surface and follow a narrow path steeply up to the Feldberg ski area. Continue either up over the plateau to the Bismarck monument or past the Haus der Natur on wide paths to your accommodation. Today you will spend the night in Germany’s highest municipality near the top of the pass or directly below the summit in a small mountain hut.
Feldberg — Todtnauberg
Distanz: 12 km Höhe (+): 225m Höhe (-): 530m
Today you climb the Feldberg. The path climbs steeply, but after a short time you have reached the summit. From the highest point in the Black Forest, you have a fantastic panorama. After a rest, continue along the west trail along the ridge. The tour leads impressively over weather-beaten bare mountain ranges and through quiet forests, soon gently downhill. You hike past numerous rest areas with panoramic views to the lively winter sports resort of Todtnauberg.
Todtnauberg — Bernau in the Black Forest
Distanz: 14 km Höhe (+): 300m Höhe (-): 750m
From the height down into the valley, follow the impressive waterfall trail and visit the Todtnau waterfall: roaring masses of water plunge almost 100m over the rocks! From Todtnau, take the chairlift up to the Hasenhorn. After a short detour to the Hasenhorn viewing tower at the summit, you hike on to the Gisiboden-Alm, where you can observe grazing cows and pasture cattle. Passing the Bernauer Kreuz cross over the Hofeck, you head back down into the valley and across flowering meadows along the bubbling Alb stream to Bernau. This is considered one of the most beautiful high valleys in the entire Black Forest.

Past the chapel, you climb up a steep path to the Schlupfhütte. You have reached the highest point at Salzlacke and now hike on unpaved forest roads through seemingly endless lonely forest. In the afternoon you reach the Schluchsee, where you can stop off at the boat rental before crossing the dam wall and walking on to the village of Schluchsee.

On quiet forest paths, you reach the valley of the Urseebach stream and soon reach the pretty village of Lenzkirch on its banks, where it is worth taking a break in the café by the town hall. For the last time, the route climbs steeply uphill through the forest and along a panoramic path across flowering mountain meadows back to your accommodation high above Lake Titisee!
