This tour takes you through three count­ries: Ita­ly, Aus­tria and Slove­nia. Start­ing from the Pus­ter Val­ley, you cycle through natu­re on a rou­te that takes you not only to the most famous lakes in the­se regi­ons, but also to small hid­den gems. Final­ly you reach Vil­lach, a well-known town in Car­in­thia and the final desti­na­ti­on of your journey. 

Itinerary / Stages

Day 1
Arri­val in Alta Pus­te­ria (Dobbiaco/Dobbiaco)
Distanz: 0 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
Indi­vi­du­al arri­val at the start­ing hotel in Alta Pus­te­ria. In the after­noon you can take a trip to Lake Dob­bia­co and Lake Dür­ren­see. Lake Dob­bia­co is loca­ted bet­ween the Three Peaks Natu­re Park and the Fanes-Sen­nes-Brai­es Natu­re Park and is one of the few remai­ning wet­lands in the Alps. Lake Dür­ren­see is alre­a­dy loca­ted in the Three Peaks Natu­re Park, so it is a pro­tec­ted area, and from here you can admi­re the Three Peaks in all their splendor. 
Day 2
Hoch­pus­ter­tal — Lienz — Oberdrauburg/Kötschach
Distanz: 75 km Höhe (+): 325m Höhe (-): 905m
From the waters­hed of the Drau and Rienz rivers at the Tob­la­cher Sat­tel sadd­le, the rou­te con­ti­nues gent­ly downhill along the Drau. You lea­ve South Tyrol via the Ita­li­an-Aus­tri­an bor­der and reach Lienz in East Tyrol, with the impres­si­ve moun­tain back­drop of the Dolo­mi­tes lining your rou­te. On the way, you have the oppor­tu­ni­ty to take a break at Lake Tris­tacher­see, the only bathing lake in East Tyrol. 
Day 3
Ober­drau­burg — Pres­se­g­ger See — Weißensee
Distanz: 65 km Höhe (+): 551m Höhe (-): 597m
Today’s stage beg­ins in Ober­drau­burg and fol­lows the Drau Cycle Path along the Drau with magni­fi­cent Alpi­ne pan­ora­mas to Kötschach-Mau­then, a typi­cal Car­in­thi­an vil­la­ge, and Her­ma­gor. From Her­ma­gor, the rou­te con­ti­nues to Lake Pres­se­g­ger See, one of the war­mest lakes in Aus­tria, which is ide­al for a break: You can go for a swim, relax on the shore or enjoy refresh­ments in one of the kiosks. From Lake Pres­se­g­ger See you final­ly cycle to Lake Wei­ßen­see, a crys­tal-clear alpi­ne lake that is per­fect for ending the day with a swim or din­ner by the lake. 
Day 4
Wei­ßen­see — Vil­lach — Faa­ker See
Distanz: 60 km Höhe (+): 588m Höhe (-): 1018m
Today’s stage beg­ins at Lake Weis­sen­see and leads to Vil­lach, a town in the cen­ter of Car­in­thia with a Cen­tral Euro­pean and Medi­ter­ra­ne­an atmo­sphe­re. From here, the rou­te con­ti­nues to Lake Faak, which is known for its tur­quoi­se and warm water. From its shores, you can enjoy the view of the Mit­tags­ko­gel moun­ta­ins reflec­ted in the lake. 
Day 5
Lake Faak — Lake Wör­ther­see — Bled
Distanz: 75 km Höhe (+): 609m Höhe (-): 507m
After a hear­ty break­fast, you start your cycle tour towards Slove­nia. You pass through typi­cal vil­la­ges such as Dro­bol­l­ach and Lat­schach, from whe­re you can enjoy beau­tiful views of the lakes and moun­ta­ins. After a few kilo­me­ters you reach Lake Wör­ther­see, the lar­gest and most famous lake in Car­in­thia. From Lake Wör­ther­see, the rou­te con­ti­nues to the famous Lake Bled, one of the most famous places in the Alps with a view of the famous lake and the island with the church. 
Day 6
Bled — Villach
Distanz: 87 km Höhe (+): 772m Höhe (-): 778m
The last stage beg­ins in Bled in the direc­tion of Jese­nice. Fol­low the cycle path par­al­lel to the rail­road line until you reach Mojs­tra­na, the gate­way to Tri­g­lav Natio­nal Park. From here you cycle into the Sava Val­ley to Kran­js­ka Gora, a well-known Slove­ni­an Alpi­ne vil­la­ge. Just a few kilo­me­ters from here you will find Lake Jas­na, an alpi­ne lake at the foot of the Tri­g­lav peaks with crys­tal-clear water and spec­ta­cu­lar views, and Lake Zel­en­ci, a natu­re reser­ve with emer­ald green springs that can be easi­ly rea­ched by bike along the cycle path towards Rate?e: a litt­le hid­den para­di­se. From here you final­ly reach Vil­lach, the final desti­na­ti­on of your journey.

Tour cha­rac­ter
Most of the cycle tour leads along well-main­tai­ned cycle paths, very often direct­ly along the lakes­hore. In sec­tions, the rou­te runs along main roads wit­hout cycle paths. 
Arri­val
By car: via the Bren­ner high­way (A22) to Bri­xen, exit Fran­zens­fes­te, Pus­ter­tal — through the Pus­ter­tal (sta­te road SS49) to Nie­der­dorf, Tob­lach or Sil­li­an, depen­ding on the hotel or via the Fel­ber­tau­ern road to Lienz in East Tyrol and on to Ita­ly in the Hoch­pus­ter­tal (Sil­li­an, Tob­lach or Nie­der­dorf, depen­ding on the hotel). By train: to Inns­bruck via the Bren­ner Pass to Fran­zens­fes­te. From here to Alta Pus­te­ria (train sta­ti­on Vil­la­bassa, Dob­bia­co or Sil­li­an, depen­ding on your start­ing hotel). If the mini­mum num­ber of par­ti­ci­pan­ts is not rea­ched, we reser­ve the right to can­cel the trip up to four weeks befo­re the date of arri­val. We recom­mend that you do not orga­ni­ze your arri­val and depar­tu­re until after this dead­line has passed.
Other notes
To ensu­re a stress-free start to the trip, we recom­mend arri­ving at the start­ing point by ear­ly evening in most cases. Some tours start as ear­ly as mid­day, in which case we recom­mend arri­ving the day befo­re and will be hap­py to book an extra night for you at the same time. The indi­vi­du­al return jour­ney takes place on the last day of the tour. The kilo­me­ters are appro­xi­ma­te and may dif­fer from the actu­al kilo­me­ters cover­ed. This tour is not sui­ta­ble for peo­p­le with redu­ced mobility. 
7‑day care­free number
No mat­ter how well plan­ned a trip is, in rare cases unex­pec­ted things hap­pen. At such times, it’s nice to have someone you can rely on on site. For this reason, you will have a local cont­act per­son on our indi­vi­du­al acti­vi­ty tours who will be hap­py to pro­vi­de you with infor­ma­ti­on and, as sta­ted in the tra­vel docu­ments, can be cont­ac­ted in an emergency.
