Part 3 of the Munich — Venice hiking tri­lo­gy: From Cor­ti­na to Venice

This hike offers pure varie­ty. From Cor­ti­na di Ampez­zo, the town in the Dolo­mi­tes, you hike south to Venice, one of the most beau­tiful cities in Euro­pe. Forest paths, pan­o­r­amic views, viney­ards, high pla­teaus, inte­res­t­ing towns and much more await you. Embark on a plea­su­re hike in nor­t­hern Ita­ly. Expe­ri­ence cul­tu­re and cus­toms in the pro­vin­ce of Bel­lu­no, hike through the viney­ards whe­re the famous Val­d­ob­bia­de­ne Pro­sec­co is grown and enjoy the Ita­li­an flair with an ape­ri­tivo in Bel­lu­no and Venice. This rou­te is recom­men­ded as a con­ti­nua­tion of the Kitz­bü­hel — Three Peaks hiking tour. 

Itinerary / Stages

Day 1
Indi­vi­du­al arri­val in Cortina‑d‘Ampezzo
Distanz: 0 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
Indi­vi­du­al arri­val at the start­ing hotel in Cor­ti­na. Dis­co­ver your start­ing point in the heart of the Dolomites. 
Day 2
Cor­ti­na d Ampez­zo — San Vito di Cadore
Distanz: 13 km Höhe (+): 200m Höhe (-): 370m
Start­ing from Cor­ti­na d Ampez­zo — known as the pearl of the Dolo­mi­tes — you begin your hiking tour in the Dolo­mi­tes. You hike slight­ly abo­ve the val­ley flo­or along a forest path with views of the Sora­pis mas­sif and the rock for­ma­ti­on of the Five Towers — Cin­que Tor­ri — on the right. You reach San Vito di Cado­re through the Boi­te valley. 
Day 3
San Vito di Cado­re — Pie­ve di Cadore
Distanz: 18 km Höhe (+): 550m Höhe (-): 950m
You can shor­ten the first part of the hike by taking the chair­lift to Rifu­gio Scot­ter Pala­ti­ni (ticket not included). The Via Alpi­ni hiking trail takes you to the Pas­so dei Camo­sci and then to the Galas­si hut. Once the­re, you have alre­a­dy con­que­r­ed the hig­hest point of the hike. Along the way, you can enjoy the view of famous moun­ta­ins such as Mon­te Pel­mo, Civet­ta and Ante­lao. Via the Tal dOten val­ley, you walk par­al­lel to the Moli­na river. The­re is the opti­on of taking a cab from Bar Alla Pine­ta direct­ly to Pie­ve di Cado­re after approx. 16 km (cab not included). Other­wi­se, walk to Cala­zo di Cado­re and from the­re take the bus to Pie­ve di Cado­re (not included). 
Day 4
Pie­ve di Cado­re — Belluno
Distanz: 15 km Höhe (+): 550m Höhe (-): 750m
Abo­ve Cal­al­zo di Cado­re, you hike to Tai di Cado­re with a view of Lake Cal­al­zo and on to Val­le di Cado­re. Here we recom­mend a short detour to the church of St. Mar­tin in Val­le di Cado­re. Now con­ti­nue along the Cammi­no del­le Dolo­mi­ti hiking trail. From the­re you hike along the foot of Mon­te Zuc­co to Cal­al­zo di Cado­re. From here, take the bus to today’s stage desti­na­ti­on Bel­lu­no — the litt­le Venice in the mountains. 
Day 5
Bel­lu­no — Revine
Distanz: 18 km Höhe (+): 510m Höhe (-): 1550m
After a short trans­fer, you will reach the famous Neve­gal pla­teau. From the­re you can see San­ta Cro­ce and Lake Mor­to. Befo­re you spend the next few days in the low­lands, you will hike along the moun­tain ridge again today and enjoy a 360 pan­ora­ma. You can enjoy a tasty snack in one of the moun­tain huts befo­re des­cen­ding to Revine. 
Day 6
Revi­ne — Cone­glia­no — Treviso
Distanz: 22 km Höhe (+): 360m Höhe (-): 540m
Trans­fer in the mor­ning. Today you hike along the trails of the Munich Venice Dream Trail. After a few hills, you reach Moli­net­to del­la Cro­da with an old, very beau­tiful water­mill. You hike through the Pro­sec­co regi­on with its beau­tiful viney­ards, which invi­te you to enjoy a good glass of Pro­sec­co in the evening. After a short train ride from Cone­glia­no, you reach Tre­vi­so, the fashionable city in the north-east of Ita­ly. If you wish, you can take the bus from Refron­to­lo to Conegliano. 
Day 7
Tre­vi­so — Venice mainland/Mestre
Distanz: 23 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
Today’s stage runs along the river and the Sile natu­re reser­ve. Here you will find small lakes, peat bogs and many water­cour­ses. The area is known for the num­e­rous bird spe­ci­es that nest the­re. If you pre­fer to con­ti­nue your jour­ney on foot, you can hike to Quar­to dAl­ti­no and from the­re take the train or bike to Mestre. 
Day 8
Indi­vi­du­al depar­tu­re or pos­si­bi­li­ty of extension
Distanz: 0 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
Unfort­u­na­te­ly the tour ends today, but we are hap­py to extend your stay in the lagoon city.

Tour cha­rac­ter
The tour is sui­ta­ble for anyo­ne with a good basic level of fit­ness. Clim­bing skills are not neces­sa­ry. It is pos­si­ble to shor­ten the stages by using public trans­port. The hiking tour is sui­ta­ble for child­ren aged 14 and over.

CAR: via the Bren­ner free­way (A22) to Bri­xen, exit Fran­zens­fes­te, Pus­ter­tal — through the Pus­ter­tal (sta­te road SS49) to Tob­lach and then to Cor­ti­na dAm­pez­zo or via the Fel­ber­tau­ern road to Lienz in East Tyrol and on to Ita­ly to Tob­lach and then to Cor­ti­na dAm­pez­zo // RAIL: to Inns­bruck via the Bren­ner to Fran­zens­fes­te. From here to Dob­bia­co. From here by bus to Cor­ti­na dAm­pez­zo.
