Crossing the Alps by bike Bava­ria, Tyrol, Car­in­thia Dis­co­ver Slove­nia This varied cycle tour leads in 6 stages from Lake Tegern­see in Bava­ria via Lake Achen­see and the Kitz­bü­hel Alps to Lake Bled in Slove­nia. Along the way, you can expect fan­ta­stic moun­tain pan­ora­mas, tra­di­tio­nal Alpi­ne vil­la­ges, deep blue lakes and cul­tu­ral high­lights. We start at Lake Tegern­see, con­ti­nue over the Achen Pass to the tur­quoi­se-green Achen­see and into the Tyro­lean Inn Val­ley. Via Wörgl and Hopf­gar­ten you reach the Pil­ler­see­tal val­ley to Fie­ber­brunn. The next stage leads via Zell am See to Fusch at the foot of the Groß­glock­ner­stra­ße. From the­re, a shut­tle takes you to the Fuscher Törl (2,428m), whe­re a spec­ta­cu­lar des­cent through the Möll­tal val­ley to Ober­vel­lach beg­ins. You con­ti­nue through the Car­in­thi­an Drau Val­ley to Vil­lach befo­re the last stage takes you via the Pla­ni­ca ski jum­ping are­na and Kran­js­ka Gora in Slove­nia to the emer­ald green Lake Bled with its famous island church — the per­fect desti­na­ti­on for this uni­que Alpi­ne crossing. Day 2
Tegern­see — Kramsach region
Distanz: 72 km Höhe (+): 720m Höhe (-): 920m
The cycle tour beg­ins pic­tures­que­ly at Lake Tegern­see, whe­re the glis­tening water spreads out against the back­drop of the Bava­ri­an Alps. From the­re, the rou­te leads through idyl­lic Kreuth, known for its tra­di­tio­nal archi­tec­tu­re and pro­xi­mi­ty to the wild and roman­tic Weiß­ach­au val­ley. The rou­te then clim­bs up to Lake Achen­see, the lar­gest lake in Tyrol, which impres­ses with its emer­ald green water and the steep Kar­wen­del peaks. From here, the rou­te takes a swee­ping des­cent into the Inn­tal val­ley, whe­re it ends at Kramsach, a town that invi­tes you to dis­co­ver not only its glass-blo­wing skills, but also the open-air muse­um of Tyro­lean farms. 
Day 3
Kramsach — St. Johann/Fieberbrunn
Distanz: 64 km Höhe (+): 900m Höhe (-): 760m
The second stage starts in Kramsach and first leads along the Inn to the impres­si­ve Kundl Gor­ge, whe­re a well-deve­lo­ped cycle and hiking trail runs through the nar­row gor­ge lined with rock faces. The rou­te con­ti­nues through the wide Bri­xen­tal val­ley to Hopf­gar­ten, who­se baro­que parish church cat­ches the eye from afar. The rou­te clim­bs gent­ly and leads to Kitz­bü­hel, the world-famous win­ter sports resort with char­ming alley­ways and his­to­ric buil­dings. The rou­te then con­ti­nues to St. Johann in Tirol, sur­roun­ded by the striking peaks of the Wil­der Kai­ser, befo­re rea­ching the day’s desti­na­ti­on in Fie­ber­brunn, a pic­tures­que vil­la­ge known for its warm hos­pi­ta­li­ty and its loca­ti­on in the heart of the Kitz­bü­hel Alps. 
Day 4
St. Johann/Fieberbrunn — Fusch
Distanz: 68 km Höhe (+): 670m Höhe (-): 520m
The third stage beg­ins in St. Johann in Tirol and winds its way through the idyl­lic val­ley to Leo­gang. Here you should defi­ni­te­ly make a stop at the famous bike park, whe­re cou­ra­ge­ous pros impress with dar­ing jumps and fast des­cents — a real spec­ta­cle for spec­ta­tors. High abo­ve the vil­la­ge is the acces­si­ble Jakobs­kreuz on the Buchen­stein­wand, an extra­or­di­na­ry sum­mit cross with vie­w­ing plat­forms that offers breath­ta­king pan­o­r­amic views of the sur­roun­ding Alps. After this spe­cial attrac­tion, the rou­te con­ti­nues to Zell am See, pic­tures­que­ly situa­ted on the clear waters of Lake Zell and sur­roun­ded by impo­sing peaks. A break on the shore offers the oppor­tu­ni­ty to enjoy the sce­n­ery befo­re the rou­te leads into the Fusch Val­ley. Fusch an der Groß­glock­ner­stra­ße is the day’s desti­na­ti­on, a char­ming moun­tain vil­la­ge and also the gate­way to the legen­da­ry High Alpi­ne Road, framed by the maje­s­tic peaks of the Hohe Tau­ern Natio­nal Park. 
Day 5
Fusch — Obervellach
Distanz: 77 km Höhe (+): 690m Höhe (-): 2400m
The fourth stage beg­ins in Fusch with a spe­cial high­light: a shut­tle ser­vice that takes both cyclists and their bikes com­for­ta­b­ly to the Fuscher Törl or even to the Hoch­tor. At an alti­tu­de of over 2,500 meters, a magni­fi­cent view of the Groß­glock­ner, Aus­tria’s hig­hest moun­tain, and the sur­roun­ding high moun­tain land­scape opens up. From here, the rou­te des­cends towards Hei­li­gen­blut, a pic­tures­que moun­tain vil­la­ge with its famous, towe­ring church against the impres­si­ve back­drop of the sum­mit. The des­cent con­ti­nues through the wild and roman­tic Möll­tal val­ley, past rus­hing moun­tain streams and lush green alpi­ne mea­dows, until you final­ly reach Ober­vel­lach, a his­to­ric mar­ket town with char­ming alley­ways and clo­se pro­xi­mi­ty to the Grop­pen­stein gor­ges, pro­vi­ding an atmo­sphe­ric end to this alpi­ne roy­al stage. 
Day 6
Ober­vel­lach — Villach
Distanz: 77 km Höhe (+): 390m Höhe (-): 590m
The fifth stage leads from Ober­vel­lach along the well-main­tai­ned Alpe-Adria Cycle Path through the scenic Drau Val­ley. The rou­te runs down­stream, past lush mea­dows, small vil­la­ges and with views of the sur­roun­ding moun­tain ran­ges. Lake Mill­stät­ter See shim­mers in the distance, nest­led in gent­le hills — a short detour the­re would be pos­si­ble, but the main rou­te remains in the val­ley. Sights such as the his­to­ric old town of Spit­tal an der Drau with the Renais­sance Por­cia Cast­le beck­on along the way. The rou­te con­ti­nues along the Drau to Vil­lach, whe­re sou­thern flair, char­ming squa­res and the pro­xi­mi­ty to the Car­in­thi­an lakes make for an atmo­sphe­ric end to the day. 
Day 7
Vil­lach — Bled
Distanz: 81 km Höhe (+): 900m Höhe (-): 910m
The last stage starts in Vil­lach and fol­lows the Alpe-Adria Cycle Path sou­thwards. Along the Gail river, the rou­te leads through the green val­ley to the Ita­li­an bor­der, whe­re the char­ming moun­tain town of Tar­vi­sio with its Medi­ter­ra­ne­an flair invi­tes you to lin­ger. After Tar­vi­sio, the rou­te con­ti­nues into Slove­nia, past den­se forests and gent­le clim­bs, until you reach the impres­si­ve ski jum­ping are­na in Pla­ni­ca — a high­light for win­ter sports fans and an impres­si­ve struc­tu­re in the midd­le of the Juli­an Alps. Short­ly after­wards, Kran­js­ka Gora comes into view, a popu­lar vaca­ti­on resort not only for win­ter sports, but also in sum­mer with cozy cafés and magni­fi­cent moun­tain pan­ora­mas. From here, the rou­te runs through the idyl­lic Radov­na Val­ley, nest­led in the Tri­g­lav Natio­nal Park. The val­ley is cha­rac­te­ri­zed by gent­le river cour­ses, tra­di­tio­nal alpi­ne pas­tu­res and the Zel­en­ci natu­re reser­ve with its emer­ald green springs — a per­fect place for a short break and pho­to stops. Final­ly, the val­ley opens up fur­ther south and leads into the Sava Val­ley, which offers a view of the glis­tening Lake Bled. With its famous island church and cast­le per­ched on a rock, the lake is a real high­light of the tour. The mul­ti-day cycle tour ends here, and you can cele­bra­te your suc­cess with a tra­di­tio­nal Bled cream cake on the shores of the lake.

7‑day care­free number
No mat­ter how well plan­ned a trip is, in rare cases unex­pec­ted things hap­pen. At such times, it’s nice to have someone you can rely on on site. For this reason, you will have a local cont­act per­son on our indi­vi­du­al acti­vi­ty tours who will be hap­py to pro­vi­de you with infor­ma­ti­on and, as sta­ted in the tra­vel docu­ments, can be cont­ac­ted in an emergency.
Mini­mum num­ber of participants
If a mini­mum num­ber of par­ti­ci­pan­ts is requi­red for the tour to take place, this is sta­ted under Pri­ces and ser­vices. If the mini­mum num­ber of par­ti­ci­pan­ts is not rea­ched, we reser­ve the right to can­cel the trip up to four weeks befo­re the date of arri­val. We recom­mend that you do not orga­ni­ze your arri­val and depar­tu­re until after this dead­line has passed.
Depar­tu­re — return transfer
You orga­ni­ze your depar­tu­re indi­vi­du­al­ly. We also offer a return trans­fer for the tour on request and at an extra char­ge. If the mini­mum num­ber of par­ti­ci­pan­ts is rea­ched, the cost of Bled Bad Wies­see is 293 per per­son. The trans­fer pri­ce decrea­ses as the num­ber of par­ti­ci­pan­ts increa­ses. If you wish to tra­vel back by train, we recom­mend that you tra­vel to Vil­lach with our part­ner cab and from Vil­lach by train (direct con­nec­tion Vil­lach Munich main sta­ti­on). Arri­val
You can tra­vel to Lake Tegern­see eit­her by car or by train. By train, you can take the regio­nal train from the main sta­ti­on to Tegern­see / Gmund am Tegern­see stop. If you are tra­ve­ling with lug­ga­ge, plea­se send it to your start­ing hotel in good time with Her­mes or DHL. 
Other notes
To ensu­re a stress-free start to the trip, we recom­mend arri­ving at the start­ing point by ear­ly evening in most cases. Some tours start as ear­ly as mid­day, in which case we recom­mend arri­ving the day befo­re and will be hap­py to book an extra night for you at the same time. The indi­vi­du­al return jour­ney takes place on the last day of the tour. The kilo­me­ters are appro­xi­ma­te and may dif­fer from the actu­al kilo­me­ters cover­ed. This tour is not sui­ta­ble for peo­p­le with redu­ced mobility.

Varied Alpi­ne cycle tour for expe­ri­en­ced cyclists, com­bi­ning scenic diver­si­ty, sport­ing chal­lenges and cul­tu­ral high­lights. Alter­na­ting bet­ween rela­xed val­ley pas­sa­ges, mode­ra­te clim­bs and spec­ta­cu­lar pan­o­r­amic rou­tes, part­ly on asphal­ted cycle paths, part­ly on quiet side roads. High­lights include alpi­ne lakes, gor­ges, tra­di­tio­nal moun­tain vil­la­ges and pan­o­r­amic moun­ta­ins, crow­ned by the finish at Lake Bled. 
Par­king
For the dura­ti­on of the tour, you can ask at your start­ing hotel if this is pos­si­ble. You can also use our char­geable Alpen­über­que­rer par­king lot in Marienstein. 
Ren­tal bikes
We only offer e‑bikes (trek­king bikes) for hire. The bikes are equip­ped with 625Wh Bosch motors. The ren­tal bike pri­ce includes 1 pan­nier and a lock. Addi­tio­nal access­ories are available on request and at an extra char­ge. You can pick up your ren­tal bike on the day of arri­val at the bike ren­tal Bad Wies­se. On request, the ren­tal bike can also be deli­ver­ed to your start­ing hotel. The ren­tal bike is included until the adver­ti­sed day of return. The ren­tal bike must be retur­ned inde­pendent­ly to the ren­tal bike part­ner or, on request, the ren­tal bike can also be coll­ec­ted from the hotel in Bad Wies­see or Gmund am Tegern­see. Just ask us.
