A crossing of the Alps for moun­tain lovers who not only stri­ve for natu­re expe­ri­en­ces and sum­mit hap­pi­ness, but also want to actively con­tri­bu­te to sus­taina­bi­li­ty. On this hiking tour, we are accom­pa­nied by the impo­sing Wil­der Kai­ser, the pic­tures­que Kitz­bü­hel Alps and the maje­s­tic Hohe Tau­ern Natio­nal Park on our way to the Pus­ter Val­ley in South Tyrol. Our focus is not only on suc­cessful­ly crossing the Alps, but also on redu­cing our eco­lo­gi­cal foot­print. Our cer­ti­fied moun­tain hiking gui­des come from the regi­on, and tog­e­ther we will expe­ri­ence an unfor­gettable hiking week away from the crowds, with a clear con­sci­ence in our lug­ga­ge. Day 1
Day 1: Arri­val Kufstein
Distanz: 0 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
Indi­vi­du­al arri­val in Kuf­stein (best train con­nec­tions from Ger­ma­ny) Over­night stay at the Wan­d­er­ho­tel Kuf­stein and get­ting to know the cer­ti­fied hiking gui­de over din­ner together
Day 2
Day 2: Kai­ser­tal — Wil­der Kai­ser — Scheffau
Distanz: 15 km Höhe (+): 600m Höhe (-): 1000m
The Alpi­ne crossing beg­ins with a lei­su­re­ly ascent with the Kuf­stein Kai­ser­lift to the Bren­ten­joch high abo­ve the Kai­ser­tal, which was named Aus­tria’s most beau­tiful val­ley in 2016. Along the maje­s­tic peaks of the Wil­der Kai­ser, we reach the rustic Wal­ler­alm at luncht­i­me, whe­re we enjoy a hear­ty cheese snack. Pas­sing the Hin­ter­stei­ner See lake, we reach the vil­la­ge of Schef­f­au. Over­night stay at the hiking hotel in Scheffau/Going, din­ner with regio­nal specialties. 
Day 3
Day 3: Kitz­bü­hel Alps
Distanz: 18 km Höhe (+): 950m Höhe (-): 900m
Today we are hea­ding across the Kitz­bü­hel Alps, away from the hust­le and bust­le around the Gams­stadt, we will hike the most beau­tiful hiking rou­tes all the way to Kirch­berg. Fan­ta­stic views of the moun­tain back­drop of the Wil­der Kai­ser and the Kitz­bü­he­ler Horn await us today. Over­night stay at the hiking hotel in Kirchberg/Aschau, regio­nal deli­ca­cy dinner. 
Day 4
Day 4: Mit­ter­sill in Salz­bur­ger Land
Distanz: 16 km Höhe (+): 800m Höhe (-): 1100m
The Kitz­bü­hel Alps are also our com­pa­n­ion today. Today we hike along the natu­re park to Mit­ter­sill in Salz­bur­ger Land — our con­stant com­pa­n­ion is the Groß­ve­ne­di­ger, a land­mark of the Alps. Water­falls, impres­si­ve flo­ra and fau­na and secluded hiking trails will bring body, mind and soul into harm­o­ny today. Over­night stay in a hiking hotel in Mittersill. 
Day 5
Day 5: Hohe Tau­ern Natio­nal Park
Distanz: 16 km Höhe (+): 1200m Höhe (-): 1100m
Today we lea­ve the Salz­bur­ger Land again and head along anci­ent mule tracks in the Hohe Tau­ern Natio­nal Park to the hig­hest point of this Alpi­ne crossing, the Tau­ern Crossing at 2,481m. After a rest, we con­ti­nue towards East Tyrol. Past untouch­ed natu­ral land­scapes and with a view of the Groß­ve­ne­di­ger in front of us. In the evening we enjoy a gour­met East Tyro­lean menu, which we have real­ly ear­ned today. 
Day 6
Day 6: Defer­eg­gen Valley
Distanz: 15 km Höhe (+): 850m Höhe (-): 800m
Defr­eg­gen­tal. Legen­da­ry moun­tain ran­ges, lonely hiking trails. From the small ham­let of Maria Hilf, we hike to the Gsie­ser Törl, whe­re we cross the bor­der into Ita­ly and des­cend into the Gsie­ser­tal to South Tyrol. With a bit of luck, we might even spot some mar­mots. Yes, this insi­der tip awaits us on today’s hike. The Gsie­ser­tal val­ley is one of the dream places in the Pus­ter­tal val­ley, but for­t­u­na­te­ly it is still spared from mass tou­rism. After the hike, we take public trans­port to our hotel and let the local cui­sine spoil us with South Tyro­lean delicacies. 
Day 7
Day 7: Val Pus­te­ria in South Tyrol 
Distanz: 19 km Höhe (+): 950m Höhe (-): 950m
Today is the high­light of our tour, the hike to the Roß­ko­gel. High abo­ve the Gsie­ser­tal val­ley, we have a breath­ta­king view of the Dolo­mi­tes in all their glo­ry. On the des­cent to Dob­bia­co, we can enjoy the beau­tiful Dob­bia­co Lake, which glis­tens bet­ween the moun­ta­ins. We take regio­nal trans­port to the hotel in Lienz in East Tyrol, brin­ging with us many unfor­gettable experiences. 
Day 8
Day 8: Pus­ter­tal Kufstein
Distanz: 0 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
After break­fast, we are taken back to our start­ing point in Kuf­stein by public trans­port, of cour­se, in the spi­rit of an eco­lo­gi­cal foot­print. We will never for­get the impres­si­ons of this week.

Mobi­li­ty guarantee
Assis­tance is available to you throug­hout the trip. If you want or need to take a rest day, you will be accom­pa­nied to the next hotel. We know that indi­vi­du­al stages can be chal­len­ging and, if neces­sa­ry, we will offer sui­ta­ble alter­na­ti­ves to take the pres­su­re off you or allow you a day’s rest.

Arri­val
By car: Take the Inn­tal­au­to­bahn A12 (toll sti­cker requi­red) to the Kuf­stein Nord or Süd exit. Kuf­stein is loca­ted direct­ly on the Ger­man-Aus­tri­an bor­der. TRAIN: Kuf­stein train sta­ti­on has inter­na­tio­nal con­nec­tions (e.g. Munich-Inns­bruck). From the sta­ti­on, the town cen­ter and hotels are easi­ly acces­si­ble on foot or by bus. FLIGHT: Nea­rest air­ports: Inns­bruck (approx. 80 km), Munich (approx. 120 km) or Salz­burg (approx. 100 km). Onward jour­ney by train, ren­tal car or shut­tle to Kufstein.
