The hiking tour around Ita­ly’s lar­gest lake is tru­ly a dream tour through three Ita­li­an pro­vin­ces. Start­ing from the alpi­ne Tren­ti­no via the lemon town of Limo­ne, you reach the ele­gant Rivie­ra in Lom­bar­dy. The return jour­ney takes you through the pro­vin­ce of Vene­to and the regi­on around Mon­te Bal­do back to the start­ing point in the north, with views of the Dolo­mi­te peaks bey­ond. Dis­co­ver the most beau­tiful hikes high abo­ve and along the lake, always with pan­o­r­amic views of the wide expan­se of the lake. Hike through secluded forest are­as and lively vaca­ti­on resorts, along spec­ta­cu­lar trails and lei­su­re­ly pro­me­na­de paths from one place worth see­ing to the next. Enjoy the Medi­ter­ra­ne­an flair amidst the sple­ndor of colourful flowers, oli­ves, figs and vines. Day 1
Arri­val in Riva del Garda
Distanz: 0 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
A walk along the pro­me­na­de is the best way to dis­co­ver the atmo­sphe­re of the won­derful old town.
Day 2
Riva del Gar­da — Limone
Distanz: 13 km Höhe (+): 720m Höhe (-): 750m
Trans­fer through rocky tun­nels to the start­ing point, whe­re the first spec­ta­cu­lar views of the Son­nen­steig trail await. You hike direct­ly abo­ve the water for a while on the new foot­path along the rocks. Fol­low the moun­tain stream up to the pan­o­r­amic trail, which leads past the fishing muse­um to the pic­tures­que vil­la­ge of Limo­ne. Here it is worth taking a stroll through the town cen­ter and sam­pling the deli­cious lemon ice cream. 
Day 3
Limo­ne — Gar­do­ne Riviera/Sal?
Distanz: 12 km Höhe (+): 500m Höhe (-): 500m
Expe­ri­ence the vast expan­se of water of the huge lake on a boat trip to the south. From Tosco­la­no, fol­low his­to­ric paths deep into the val­ley, whe­re water­falls and moun­tain streams roar. You climb up into secluded woo­ded are­as in a vast moun­tain regi­on. On shady paths and small roads to the ele­gant vil­la­ge of Gar­do­ne Rivie­ra, whe­re a visit to the exo­tic gar­den and the pret­ty town cen­ter beckons. 
Day 4
Gar­do­ne Riviera/Salò — Desenzano
Distanz: 15 km Höhe (+): 340m Höhe (-): 340m
Take the pro­me­na­de path along the bay of Salò to the tiny medieval vil­la­ge of Cis­a­no and con­ti­nue through beau­tiful oli­ve gro­ves to San Feli­ce. Pas­sing vaca­ti­on sett­le­ments and invi­ting bea­ches, you reach the rocky pen­in­su­la of Manerba. The cross towers impres­si­ve­ly high on the rock. San­dy paths lead you direct­ly along the steep cliffs around the pen­in­su­la to the idyl­lic litt­le har­bor of Dus­a­no. You will reach your over­night accom­mo­da­ti­on by boat. 
Day 5
Desen­za­no — Garda
Distanz: 12 km Höhe (+): 290m Höhe (-): 290m
On the boat trip, you can mar­vel at the impres­si­ve Sir­mio­ne pen­in­su­la. Take a rela­xed stroll along the lake on won­derful lake­si­de paths through lively vil­la­ges such as Lazi­se or Bar­do­li­no. Uphill to the Roc­ca di Gar­da, from whe­re you can enjoy impres­si­ve views of the long bea­ches and the small towns in the val­ley. Through shady forests to Gar­da, whe­re a won­derful lake­si­de pro­me­na­de and a pret­ty har­bor with small fishing boats await you. 
Day 6
Lake Gar­da — Malcesine
Distanz: 11 km Höhe (+): 950m Höhe (-): 470m
After a short bus ride, you hike on his­to­ric stone paved paths far up to the her­mi­ta­ge. You fol­low the path along the flanks of Mon­te Bal­do past the wond­rous­ly shaped rock for­ma­ti­ons of the Bügel­eisen. You reach the litt­le church of San Miche­le at the Mon­te Bal­do cable car sta­ti­on. You can choo­se to swing up to the sum­mit or direct­ly down into the val­ley to Mal­ce­si­ne with the Cas­tel­lo di Sca­li­ge­ro, which is well worth seeing. 
Day 7
Mal­ce­si­ne — Riva del Garda
Distanz: 15 km Höhe (+): 550m Höhe (-): 570m
To round off your trip, the well-known and scenic pan­o­r­amic trail from Bus­at­te is a very spe­cial high­light on your pro­gram. You climb secu­red step­ped paths, cross impres­si­ve bridges and enjoy a bir­d’s eye view of the val­ley below. You then take a tour through the lively vaca­ti­on resort of Tor­bo­le and hike through oli­ve gro­ves and viney­ards to the cast­le of Nago. Walk along the pic­tures­que lake­si­de pro­me­na­de to Riva.

Hike along dream­li­ke sun­ny paths with lake views through flower-fil­led vaca­ti­on resorts from the steep moun­ta­ins of Riva to the ele­gant Rivie­ra. The Medi­ter­ra­ne­an flair and the see­mingly end­less lake sur­face will enchant you during the pan­o­r­amic hikes over moun­tain flanks, pen­in­su­las, forests and fra­grant macchia. 
Natu­re of the Tour
You’ll hike on well-main­tai­ned trails and, in some sec­tions, on paths high abo­ve the lake. You’ll also fre­quent­ly walk on paved board­walks along the shore. For wal­king times ran­ging from 4 to 5.5 hours, as well as for some lon­ger ascents, you should be in good phy­si­cal con­di­ti­on and sure-foo­ted. The more chal­len­ging, rocky sec­tions can be bypas­sed by taking an alter­na­ti­ve rou­te or by taking a bus.
