Dis­co­ver the source of the Isar — the Isar spring. Tra­vel to Mit­ten­wald and take a trip to the source of the Isar near Schar­nitz. Then head to Munich for a long weekend, for exam­p­le. During the­se 4 days, you will tra­vel to the most beau­tiful spots in Upper Bavaria.

Arri­ve rela­xed in Mit­ten­wald and enjoy the rest of the day at lei­su­re. We recom­mend a stroll through the his­to­ric pede­stri­an zone with its hou­ses deco­ra­ted with Lüftlmalerei. 
Excur­si­on to the source of the Isar
Distanz: 39 km Höhe (+): 330m Höhe (-): 330m
Today you go on an excur­si­on to the main sources of the Isar in the high moun­ta­ins. A wide forest road leads you to the source of the Isar. From the­re, a natu­ral path allows you to explo­re the ori­gi­nal springs on foot. The crys­tal-clear young Isar gus­hes out of the moss-cover­ed rocks abo­ve Mittenwald. 
Mit­ten­wald — Bad Tölz
Distanz: 58 km Höhe (+): 230m Höhe (-): 490m
From Mit­ten­wald, you fol­low the cour­se of the crys­tal-clear moun­tain stream to the Syl­ven­stein­see lake, who­se sur­roun­dings exu­de a hint of Indi­an sum­mer. Con­ti­nuing along the Isar and the beau­tiful land­scape of the Alpi­ne foot­hills, you pass through the vil­la­ges of Winkl, Fleck and Leng­gries, among others, until you reach today’s stage desti­na­ti­on of Bad Tölz. Use the remai­ning time to visit the old town of Bad Tölz with its his­to­ric mar­ket street. 
Bad Tölz — Munich
Distanz: 57 km Höhe (+): 290m Höhe (-): 410m
With rene­wed vigor, today’s rou­te con­ti­nues lei­su­re­ly through the towns of Gerets­ried, Wolfrats­hau­sen and Grün­wald. Now you are alre­a­dy at the gates of the sta­te capi­tal Munich. Bava­ria Film­stadt, Hel­la­brunn Zoo and the Deut­sches Muse­um are just a few of the sights that are well worth a visit. The Eng­lish Gar­den is also one of the city­’s high­lights. Here, at the foot of the Chi­ne­se Tower, you can tre­at yours­elf to a litt­le refresh­ment in the beer gar­den and enjoy the end of the day.

Additional information

Tour cha­rac­ter
The dai­ly stages ran­ge in length from 23 to approx. 95 km, depen­ding on the pro­gram boo­ked. A mix­tu­re of asphal­ted cycle paths, quiet side roads and unsur­faced forest, field and river­si­de paths. A busy sec­tion of approx. 20 km awaits you in the Isar­win­kel. The rou­te is flat to slight­ly hilly. 
Return trans­fer
Good train con­nec­tions to Mit­ten­wald; hour­ly from Munich (train jour­ney time approx. 2 hours). Alter­na­tively, we are hap­py to offer you an orga­ni­zed return trans­fer. Pri­ce on request. 
Arri­val
Arri­val by car:A good 100 kilo­me­ters south of Munich and 913 m abo­ve sea level, the hig­hest cli­ma­tic health resort in the Bava­ri­an Alps awaits you. With an area of only 3 squa­re kilo­me­ters, Mit­ten­wald is a place of short distances. Arri­val via the Gar­misch free­way and on to Mit­ten­wald or via Bad Tölz — Kochel­see-Wal­chen­see. Arri­val by plane:The nea­rest inter­na­tio­nal air­ports are Fried­richs­ha­fen and Munich, good rail con­nec­tions to Mit­ten­wald via Munich. Arri­val by train:Mittenwald has excel­lent natio­nal and inter­na­tio­nal rail con­nec­tions, from the train sta­ti­on it is not far to the hotels. Hotel trans­fers from/to the train sta­ti­on are orga­ni­zed by the hotel. 
Par­king lots
Free, unguard­ed par­king spaces are available at the poli­ce sta­ti­on (par­king lot P4) for the dura­ti­on of your cycle tour, ask at recep­ti­on. Alter­na­tively: par­king lot P1 is loca­ted to the right of the sta­ti­on buil­ding. In this Park & Ride par­king lot you can also park lon­ger, free of char­ge and unguard­ed, if you park in the back rows. 
Other notes
To ensu­re a stress-free start to the trip, we recom­mend arri­ving at the start­ing point by ear­ly evening in most cases. Some tours start as ear­ly as mid­day, in which case we recom­mend arri­ving the day befo­re and will be hap­py to book an extra night for you at the same time. The indi­vi­du­al return jour­ney takes place on the last day of the tour. The kilo­me­ters are appro­xi­ma­te and may dif­fer from the actu­al kilo­me­ters cover­ed. This tour is not sui­ta­ble for peo­p­le with redu­ced mobility. 
Mini­mum num­ber of participants
If a mini­mum num­ber of par­ti­ci­pan­ts is requi­red for the tour to take place, this is sta­ted under Pri­ces and ser­vices. If the mini­mum num­ber of par­ti­ci­pan­ts is not rea­ched, we reser­ve the right to can­cel the trip up to four weeks befo­re the date of arri­val. We recom­mend that you do not orga­ni­ze your arri­val and depar­tu­re until after this dead­line has passed.

Ren­tal bikes
The ren­tal bike comes with a pan­nier, lock and char­ger. The ren­tal bike pri­ce is cal­cu­la­ted for the dura­ti­on of the tour (from the day of arri­val to the day of depar­tu­re). If you book addi­tio­nal nights after the tour, the­re is an addi­tio­nal char­ge of 45.00 per day for the ren­tal bike. The return of the ren­tal bike is at your own risk. Howe­ver, you are wel­co­me to book a return trans­fer with us on request.
