Isar cycle path — short trip south incl. luggage transfer

from 838,- per person

The Isar is one of the most beautiful natural jewels in the heart of Europe: from its source in Tyrol to its mouth in Deggendorf, the crystal-clear mountain stream grows into a stately river over 300 kilometers — and shows many different faces along the way. The Isar Cycle Path offers the opportunity to discover this natural landscape at close quarters. The towns and cities along the route also offer a wide range of cultural attractions. If you get active, you will also get hungry and thirsty: numerous inns, stores and (weekly) markets along the route offer the opportunity to quench your thirst.

Itinerary / Stages

Individual arrival in Mittenwald — excursion to the source of the Isar
Distanz: 20 km Höhe (+): 313m Höhe (-): 50m
You start after your arrival in Mittenwald: from the alpine village, you cycle uphill along the young Isar to Scharnitz and into the Hinterautal valley to the source of the Isar. Here the river shows its most beautiful side. Wild and with an impressive play of colors, it flows through the valley. Overnight stay in Mittenwald.
Mittenwald — Eng
Distanz: 51 km Höhe (+): 445m Höhe (-): 133m
From Mittenwald, the route follows the Isar out of the Alps to Vorderriss. Here you leave the Isar and head towards Risstal in the Eng. The large Ahornboden is well worth seeing. Overnight stay in Hinterriss.
Eng — Bad Tölz
Distanz: 44 km Höhe (+): 32m Höhe (-): 320m
From the Eng out of the valley to Vorderriss. From here you follow the Isar back down to the highlight of the day — the Sylvenstein reservoir. The reservoir is nestled in the mountain scenery and will make your heart beat faster. Here you can recharge your batteries before rolling out to Bad Tölz via Lenggries. Overnight stay in Bad Tölz.
Bad Tölz — Munich
Distanz: 57 km Höhe (+): 206m Höhe (-): 343m
The last stage takes us along the Isar to the Isar metropolis of Munich. Slowly you will notice how the river widens. The charm of Munich will inspire you and you will immediately understand why life in Munich also takes place along the Isar. Overnight stay in Munich.
Individual departure
