Along the way, you pass traditional villages, small bridges and unspoiled riverbanks that invite you to take short breaks. The tour is ideal for leisure cyclists, families and anyone who wants to discover the Kitzbühel Alps in a relaxed manner and without challenging climbs.

We recommend arriving by 6 pm at the latest
Day 2
Angerberg/Mariastein — Ellmau/Going
Distanz: 41 km Höhe (+): 470m Höhe (-): 340m
The start is in Angerberg, where the route initially leads through the gently undulating foothills of the Inn Valley. After a relaxed roll-in, the route passes through rural sections with meadows, small hamlets and views of the surrounding mountains. As the route continues, it approaches the Sölllandl and the area around the Wilder Kaiser. Here the terrain becomes increasingly alpine, but without becoming steep or technically demanding. Easy climbs alternate with short descents and ensure a pleasant riding pace. The route leads past and through villages in the Wilder Kaiser region, including around Söll and Going, before finally reaching the stage destination of Ellmau. The striking mountain range of the Wilder Kaiser accompanies the ride almost continuously and forms an impressive backdrop.
Day 3
Ellmau/Going — Ortisei
Distanz: 59 km Höhe (+): 590m Höhe (-): 520m
Starting from Ellmau, ride along the old road in the direction of St. Johann. Drive past the neighboring village of Going until you reach the Stanglwirt. Keep right there and take Reither Straße. You then reach Rerobichlstraße via Linderbrandweg. Take the next turn-off to the left after the Bergwerkskapelle chapel and ride via the Dorfbachsiedlung and the hamlet of Sperten to St. Johann. Take Innsbrucker Straße towards the village center and turn left at Hotel Bruggwirt before the Ache. Keep to the road and pass the main road via the underpass. A few meters further on, you can take the cycle path along the Ache again on the right. As soon as you reach the Furtherbrücke bridge, continue left along Litzlfeldener Straße. Cycle uphill through the forest to Gasteig and follow the road to Griesenau, where you can turn off onto the cycle path again. You pass the village of Schwendt and then turn right until you reach the valley station of the Kössner Bergbahnen cable car. Once again, the route takes you through a wooded area, meadows and along the cycle path along the Großache. You come to the underpass at Hagertal and then soon reach the main road in Erpfendorf, which you cross. Follow Schleiffergasse and Lärchenweg in the direction of Waidring. Change sides of the road at the Seibl distillery and enjoy views across the meadows to the surrounding mountains. The path leads you into the center of Waidring, where you turn right at the church in the direction of Pillersee. Cycle along Pillerseestraße to Niedersee, where you can turn right again onto the cycle path. You then cycle along the stream and the Pillersee lake to St. Ulrich, where your stage destination awaits you.
Day 4
Ortisei — Kirchberg
Distanz: 44 km Höhe (+): 407m Höhe (-): 441m
This stage connects the quiet Pillerseetal valley with the lively Brixental valley and is one of the most pleasant days on the KAT Bike Light Tour. The route runs mainly on well-maintained cycle paths and side roads and offers a steady elevation profile without long or steep climbs. The tour starts in St. Ulrich am Pillersee. The route initially leads out of the valley through the open meadows of the Pillerseetal valley. After just a few kilometers, the route crosses St. Jakob in Haus before continuing south. The route then reaches Hochfilzen, where the highest point of the stage is located. The climb there is even and easy to ride, allowing you to set a steady rhythm. After Hochfilzen, the cycle path leads to Fieberbrunn, from where the cycle path then leads to St. Johann. From St. Johann to Kitzbühel you cycle comfortably in the Leukental valley. The landscape changes noticeably here: the valley widens, the paths are quieter and flatter. The last few kilometers lead out of the valley to Kirchberg in Tirol, where the stage ends. Numerous places to stop for refreshments and overnight accommodation make Kirchberg an ideal stage destination.
Day 5
Kirchberg — Hopfgarten
Distanz: 31 km Höhe (+): 190m Höhe (-): 400m
This stage takes you through the heart of the Brixental Valley at a relaxed pace and is ideal as a shorter day of enjoyment within the KAT Bike Light Tour. With no gradients to speak of, there is plenty of time to enjoy the Alpine cultural landscape at a leisurely pace. The tour starts in Kirchberg in Tirol. The route leads out of the valley through open meadow landscapes on well-maintained cycle paths and low-traffic side roads. After a few kilometers, Brixen im Thale is followed by Westendorf, passing directly through typical Tyrolean villages that are ideal for a short break. As the route continues, it deliberately stays away from major traffic routes. While the view always sweeps across the wide valley floor and the surrounding grassy mountains, the cycle path leads you into the Windau Valley. The gently sloping route allows you to cycle at a steady, relaxed pace. The stage destination of Hopfgarten im Brixental is reached without much effort. The charming village center with its striking baroque church is a perfect end to this peaceful day of cycling.
Day 6
Hopfgarten — Angerberg/Mariastein
Distanz: 48 km Höhe (+): 380m Höhe (-): 340m
The last stage takes you along the Brixental Valley cycle path to Wörgl. The rest of the route follows the Inn Cycle Path to Kramsach, where the tour turns into the Reintal Lakes Tour and ends in Angerberg or Mariastein.
