Feuer und Eis own tour

KAT Bike Sport Plus with half board

Price on request

The multi-day mountain bike tour through the Kitzbühel Alps is divided into three daily stages. This variant covers a lot of altitude and kilometers. In addition to fantastic landscapes and panoramic peaks, the bike pro will also encounter some very technical descents with tricky trails. We recommend hardtail or fully mountain bikes with good/medium tread tires. ATTENTION: E‑mountain bikes are not permitted on the 3rd KAT Bike Sport stage.

Itinerary / Stages

Individual journey to Hopfgarten im Brixental
Distanz: 0 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
Individual arrival in Hopfgarten im Brixental.
Hopfgarten im Brixental — Brixen im Thale
Distanz: 25 km Höhe (+): 1108m Höhe (-): 905m
From Hopfgarten, follow the MTB route 269 in the direction of the Hopfgarten middle station. Along the gravel path you now reach the beautifully situated alpine slopes with a view of the Hohe Salve summit house. You can already see the Gasthof Rigi from afar. But just before you reach this milestone, it is worth making a detour to the Kleine Salve with its idyllic reservoir directly below the summit. You soon reach the Salvensee, another highlight of the tour. From here, you set off on a rapid descent towards Westendorf. Passing the Hohe Salve reservoir, you finally reach the Brixental valley again via many bends.
Brixen im Thale — Oberndorf in Tirol
Distanz: 53 km Höhe (+): 1879m Höhe (-): 1993m
The 2nd stage of our bikepacking trip through the Kitzbühel Alps takes you from Brixen im Thale to Oberndorf in Tyrol. With the Wiegalm Trail and the Hahnenkamm or Fleckalm Trail, two real trail challenges await you! If you don’t really dare to ride the single trails, you can also ride the forest roads and save yourself the trails.
Oberndorf in Tirol — Fieberbrunn
Distanz: 48 km Höhe (+): 1722m Höhe (-): 1610m
Without any major detours, we head south from Oberndorf and then turn east towards the legendary Kitzbüheler Horn. The road winds its way up steeply and on many hairpin bends. It’s about 7 km uphill here, but it’s not for nothing! We are rewarded with an incredible view of the north side of the Kitzbüheler Horn. We cross under the Harschbichlbahn cable car and can immediately enjoy another brilliant view of the Wilder Kaiser. A beautiful forest road with flowing bends and a few hairpin bends leads us down to the middle station of the Harschbichlbahn. Here we ride along the reservoir and reach the start of the Harschbichl Trail. Harschbichl Trail or forest road A red trail with a beautiful wooden gate for an extra dose of fun! 145 bends with Northshore elements and a few bridges, a lot in the forest but also with great views await us! There are a few roots, but also a few steep passages, but an experienced mountain biker will get down here well and with a big grin! If you prefer to skip the trail, no problem, you can take the forest road to the right instead. We arrive at the bottom in St. Johann in Tirol. The town offers plenty of places to stop for refreshments. You’ve earned at least one ice cream now! We then follow the cycle path out of St. Johann in Tirol in a northerly direction, where we follow the Achendamm along the gently babbling river via Kirchdorf to Erpfendorf. If you like, you can treat yourself to a cool refreshment for your calves at the Kneipp facility right in the village center! Nature paradise Pillersee We follow the cycle path into the center of Waidring and turn right at the crossroads towards St. Ulrich am Pillersee. But before we get to the Pillersee, it’s worth taking a detour into the Weißbachschlucht gorge. The gravel road winds its way through the rocky gorge and the Weißbach stream rushes along below. A natural highlight that you shouldn’t miss! South below the Rechersberg we return to the Pillersee. The cycle path along the lake is one of the most beautiful in the region. First along the Grieslbach, then directly by the lake, then through the incredibly beautiful moorland landscape all around. After the lake, the route climbs slightly and we follow the cycle path on perfect narrow gravel paths towards Wiesensee. Once you reach the lake, the Kneipp facility invites you to refresh your tired calves! The route then continues to the church and then a short stretch along the main road to the crossroads in the Feistenau district. Finish in Fieberbrunn At the Gasthof Eiserne Hand, the trail leads slightly downhill towards the center of Fieberbrunn. After the Hauser carpentry, a climb leads uphill a few more meters to the Lärchfilzhochalm. Here the route branches off to the right via the Jägersteig forest trail to the Streuböden middle station. Now there is another opportunity for all trail lovers to reach the valley station of the Fieberbrunn cable cars via one of the three trails. The leisurely option continues along the forest path into the valley. From here it goes downhill to the main road and along the cycle path to the finish in the center of Fieberbrunn.
