KAT Walk Alpine

I boo­ked the Kat­walk with my part­ner with break­fast, which was a mista­ke in retrospect.we only spent 2 days on the Kat­walk, but tha­t’s ano­ther mat­ter, but tha­t’s why I can only rate 2 days.1st day arri­val in Hof­gar­ten, Hohe Sal­ve Sport­Ho­tel Resort, top, like to con­ti­nue like this.… Unfort­u­na­te­ly not.2nd day hike to Kelch­sau, which somehow was not 18 km, but 20 km, pro­ba­b­ly due to forestry work, after a storm.is ok.….but after such a long and not easy hike, we were tired and hun­gry, the hotel was Pen­si­on Moser, which we first had to look for and ask through. It was fun­ny becau­se nobo­dy real­ly knew it as a hotel or guest­house. After arri­ving a few meters away, we were dis­ap­poin­ted. We were gree­ted by a man, pro­ba­b­ly the mana­ger, no recep­ti­on or any­thing else, we had to go through the base­ment to the upper flo­or, all not very invi­ting and stran­ge. It was not a guest­house (it was only writ­ten on the front of the house), it was a house for sea­so­nal workers of for­eign ori­gin, only men.the apart­ment con­sis­ted of thrown tog­e­ther fur­ni­tu­re, clean, but not real­ly invi­ting and cozy. 3 or 4 star accom­mo­da­ti­on, cozy inns, not a trace.  The Fuchs­wirt was clo­sed on Mon­days and the­re was not­hing else. Howe­ver, when I asked the mana­ger, he asked at the guest­house whe­re we were sup­po­sed to have break­fast about 400m away whe­ther we could have some­thing for din­ner the­re, which was our sal­va­ti­on, unfort­u­na­te­ly very expen­si­ve. 3rd day hike to Windau-Aschau.Day 3: Hike to Wind­au-Aschau­Hi­ke to Wind­au, first stage, until the next day to Aschau, was again very beau­tiful, but also stre­nuous, fit­ness and sure­foo­ted­ness is required.Arrival at the Stein­berg­haus, was very good, the­re was deli­cious food and also a nice room.4th day would have been 2nd part Aschau and Kitzbühl.Since I was­n’t fee­ling well and I wan­ted to go back to Aschau, I was very hap­py.  nee­ded a break, I inqui­red about the bus and train con­nec­tions, unfort­u­na­te­ly this was not pos­si­ble by bus and train as Feu­er und Eis (I quo­te: if you don’t want to hike all the stages or want to shor­ten them, you can do so free of char­ge with the Alpen Card, You can reach all places by public trans­port. Nega­ti­ve.… the­re is no bus or any­thing else in the places outside.we orde­red a cab, of cour­se very expen­si­ve, but we had no other choice to get to the Labalm whe­re our lug­ga­ge was waiting.the Labalm was a nice hut, but 1 toi­let for ever­yo­ne on the flo­or, we did­n’t see a show­er. But as I did­n’t feel any bet­ter during the day, we deci­ded to aban­don the trip. The land­la­dy was very accom­mo­da­ting and imme­dia­te­ly orde­red a cab and spo­ke to Feu­er und Eis. We took a cab back to Hopf­gar­ten to pick up our car and make our way home. sum­ma­ry: the Kat­walk as a long-distance hiking trail is very beau­tiful, to be recom­men­ded, but fit­ness and sure­foo­ted­ness must be pre­sent. plea­se can­cel Pen­si­on Moser, sim­ply ter­ri­ble. point out that short­cuts are not pos­si­ble becau­se the­re is no public trans­port from Kelch­sau to Aschau. we would only book long-distance hiking trails from local busi­nesses, as we did with the E5.
