Lake Con­s­tance-Königs­see cycle rou­te: spor­ty wit­hout lug­ga­ge transfer

First, we head south on the Iller­rad­weg for a detour to Sont­ho­fen. From the Alpi­ne town of 2005, head north again to Burg­berg in the All­gäu. At the foot of the Grün­ten mas­sif with the 1730m high Übel­horn, you con­ti­nue via the muni­ci­pa­li­ty of Ret­ten­berg. From here, the tour leads ste­adi­ly uphill, past the idyl­lic Rott­ach­see lake, via Memersch, at approx. 1000 m abo­ve sea level the hig­hest point of the enti­re Lake Con­s­tance-König­see cycle rou­te. Via Oy-Mit­tel­berg and Maria Rain you reach Nes­sel­wang, situa­ted at the foot of the Alp­spit­ze. From Nes­sel­wang you are accom­pa­nied by the fan­ta­stic pan­ora­ma of the All­gäu Alps. With views of the Zug­spit­ze and the Tann­heim moun­ta­ins, through green forests, you pass Schwei­negg and Zell until you reach the spa town of Hop­fen am See. From Hop­fen am Hop­fen­see you con­ti­nue to Füs­sen am Forg­gen­see, the second lar­gest town in the Ost­all­gäu. With its his­to­ric old town, inte­res­t­ing muse­ums and buil­dings, Füs­sen is well worth a visit. The rou­te takes you to Schwan­gau, clo­se to the world-famous Neu­schwan­stein Cast­le. The fairy­ta­le cast­le was built in 1869 under Bava­ri­an King Lud­wig II and has been a tou­rist high­light in Bava­ria for years, so it is defi­ni­te­ly worth a visit.
