On this vari­ant of the Lake Con­s­tance-Königs­see cycle rou­te, you start in Munich and cycle along the Isar to the spa town of Bad Tölz. The­re you will reach the start of the Bode­see-Königs­see cycle path. The rou­te leads through the Upper Bava­ri­an pic­tu­re-book land­scape to Tegern­see, Schlier­see and final­ly to Chiem­see, for which you should allow some time. The boat takes you to the Frau­en­in­sel and after a round trip you cross over to the Her­ren­in­sel, whe­re ano­ther magni­fi­cent cast­le from the time of King Lud­wig II awaits you. The rou­te leads via Traun­stein to Bad Rei­chen­hall and Berch­tes­ga­den. The desti­na­ti­on of the trip lies in the midd­le of the alpi­ne land­scape of the Berch­tes­ga­den Natio­nal Park. The pic­tu­re-per­fect Königs­see awaits you and per­haps you will take a short tour the­re, via Salz­burg and the Salz­ach cycle path you will reach Ainring/Freilassing whe­re you can review the tour in our sel­ec­ted hotel.

Day 1
Jour­ney to Munich
Distanz: 0 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
Your jour­ney beg­ins in the lively city of Munich, the heart of Bava­ria. Plan your arri­val so that you have enough time to explo­re the fasci­na­ting city. Start your day with a visit to Mari­en­platz, whe­re you can admi­re the magni­fi­cent New Town Hall and the famous Glo­cken­spiel. Stroll through the Eng­lish Gar­den, one of the lar­gest city parks in the world, and enjoy a rela­xing pic­nic. The Vik­tua­li­en­markt, with its varie­ty of regio­nal spe­cial­ties, is a must for gour­mets. A visit to the Deut­sches Muse­um, the worl­d’s lar­gest muse­um of sci­ence and tech­no­lo­gy, rounds off your day. In the evening, you can relax in one of the tra­di­tio­nal beer gar­dens and look for­ward to the jour­ney ahead. 
Day 2
Munich — Isar cycle path to Bad Tölz
Distanz: 58 km Höhe (+): 450m Höhe (-): 320m
In the mor­ning, you start your cycle tour along the Isar cycle path. The rou­te takes you through the green forests and along the River Isar, past idyl­lic vil­la­ges and natu­re reser­ves. The fresh air and beau­tiful sce­n­ery are a delight for every cyclist. Make a sto­po­ver at Schäft­larn Monas­tery, a Bene­dic­ti­ne monas­tery with baro­que archi­tec­tu­re. Con­ti­nue through the Isar flood­plains, whe­re you can obser­ve the diver­si­ty of the local bird­life. In the after­noon you reach the his­to­ric town of Bad Tölz. Stroll through the pic­tures­que old town with its colorful hou­ses and visit the Leon­har­di Cha­pel. The Cal­va­ry offers a won­derful view of the town and the sur­roun­ding countryside. 
Day 3
Bad Tölz — Tegern­see — Schlier­see — Bad Feilnbach
Distanz: 71 km Höhe (+): 860m Höhe (-): 1000m
You lea­ve Bad Tölz in a sou­t­her­ly direc­tion to Gaiß­ach sta­ti­on and con­ti­nue along the edge of a forest to Mari­en­st­ein and Gmund am Tegern­see — ano­ther high­light of Upper Bava­ria. If you are in very good phy­si­cal con­di­ti­on, we also recom­mend a lake cir­cuit (20 km). Howe­ver, the lake should be cir­cum­na­vi­ga­ted in a clock­wi­se direc­tion due to the hea­vy traf­fic. The rou­te con­ti­nues from Gmund via Gschwendt along the tran­quil Schlier­ach to Schlier­see and Neu­haus. Schlier­see is a beau­tiful lake framed by moun­ta­ins, who­se sur­roun­ding vil­la­ges have lost none of their authen­tic Bava­ri­an flair over the years. From Schlier­see, you cycle past Fisch­bach­au, Son­nen­reuth and Niklas­reuth to Bad Feiln­bach, a pret­ty vil­la­ge at the foot of the Wen­del­stein. Bad Feiln­bach is bles­sed with a fair­ly mild cli­ma­te and is a popu­lar health resort. The cli­ma­te also has a posi­ti­ve effect on the apple har­ve­st, which is why the apple mar­ket in the fall is one of the high­lights of the cul­tu­ral landscape. 
Day 4
Bad Feiln­bach — Siegsdorf
Distanz: 73 km Höhe (+): 550m Höhe (-): 410m
From Bad Feiln­bach, fol­low the cycle path, slight­ly downhill, through the moss to Neu­beu­ern / Alten­markt am Inn. Neu­beu­ern, with its pic­tures­que mar­ket squa­re and his­to­ric faca­des, trans­ports you back to the roman­tic atmo­sphe­re of a bygo­ne era, when ship­ping on the Inn was still the most important indus­try in Neu­beu­ern. The rou­te con­ti­nues via Rohr­dorf, Fras­dorf and Aschau towards Ber­nau am Chiem­see, the Bava­ri­an Sea. From Ber­nau via Gras­sau, the rou­te then fol­lows an old salt works path to Ber­gen, at the foot of the Hoch­felln. A high­light worth see­ing here is the Max­hüt­te, an old iron­works that has been con­ver­ted into a muse­um. Its cur­rent ter­mi­nus Siegs­dorf may be a rela­tively small com­mu­ni­ty, but it still has a spe­cial geo­lo­gi­cal sen­sa­ti­on to offer. Siegs­dorf made the big­gest head­lines in 1985 with the announce­ment of the dis­co­very of a mam­mo­th, which is now on dis­play in the South-East Bava­ri­an Muse­um of Natu­ral Histo­ry and Mammoths. 
Day 5
Siegs­dorf — Berchtesgaden
Distanz: 75 km Höhe (+): 620m Höhe (-): 690m
From Siegs­dorf, the tour leads to Traun­stein, a some­what lar­ger dis­trict town with 19,000 inha­bi­tants. The salt trade shaped the town­s­cape here. Worth see­ing are the his­to­ric town squa­re and espe­ci­al­ly the salt works dis­trict. The rou­te con­ti­nues along the Sali­nen­weg to Lau­ter, Ober­tei­sen­dorf and Tei­sen­dorf. Tei­sen­dorf is loca­ted in the Ruper­ti­win­kel regi­on, belon­ged to the prin­ce-arch­bi­shop­ric of Salz­burg for many years and is said to have been sett­led in Roman times. The next stop is Piding an der Saal­ach. From Piding, you cycle along the Alz cycle path to Bad Rei­chen­hall, the town of the for­mer salt (Hall) mer­chants. The salt muse­um in the old salt works pro­vi­des an insight into his­to­ri­cal and modern salt pro­duc­tion. The town beca­me a health resort in 1890. In addi­ti­on to the muse­um, St. Zen­o’s Mins­ter from the 12th cen­tu­ry is also worth a visit. This church is the lar­gest Roma­nes­que hall church in Bava­ria. Your place to stay today is Berch­tes­ga­den. The town owes its ori­g­ins to an Augus­ti­ni­an canon monas­tery foun­ded in 1100 and was the smal­lest prin­ci­pa­li­ty in Ger­ma­ny in the 15th century. 
Day 6
Berch­tes­ga­den — Königs­see — Salz­burg // Freilassing/Ainring
Distanz: 41 km Höhe (+): 190m Höhe (-): 350m
Start your jour­ney in pic­tures­que Berch­tes­ga­den, sur­roun­ded by impres­si­ve Alpi­ne pan­ora­mas. Dri­ve through char­ming vil­la­ges and rol­ling hills to the crys­tal-clear Königs­see, which is sur­roun­ded by steep rock faces and den­se forests. Here you can enjoy a boat trip to the pil­grimage church of St. Bar­tho­lo­mä or climb up to the Maler­win­kel view­point. Fol­low the cycle path through the Saal­ach­tal val­ley and cross the bor­der into Aus­tria to reach Salz­burg. This baro­que city offers sights such as the cathe­dral, Hohen­salz­burg Fort­ress and Mozar­t’s birth­place in Getrei­de­gas­se. From Salz­burg, cycle along the Salz­ach river through the idyl­lic Salz­bur­ger Land regi­on to Frei­las­sing. The well-main­tai­ned cycle paths lead through green fields and char­ming vil­la­ges. Enjoy a break in a tra­di­tio­nal inn in Frei­las­sing befo­re set­ting off on the last stage to Ain­ring. Sur­roun­ded by a magni­fi­cent moun­tain land­scape, Ain­ring is the per­fect end to your tour.

After your tour, the ren­tal bike should be retur­ned direct­ly to the ren­tal shop. Addi­tio­nal cos­ts are incur­red for each addi­tio­nal day. We are hap­py to bring the bike direct­ly to the hotel and pick it up again for an addi­tio­nal char­ge. Pan­niers are available on request. 
Other notes
To ensu­re a stress-free start to the trip, we recom­mend arri­ving at the start­ing point by ear­ly evening in most cases. Some tours start as ear­ly as mid­day, in which case we recom­mend arri­ving the day befo­re and will be hap­py to book an extra night for you at the same time. The indi­vi­du­al return jour­ney takes place on the last day of the tour. The kilo­me­ters are appro­xi­ma­te and may dif­fer from the actu­al kilo­me­ters cover­ed. This tour is not sui­ta­ble for peo­p­le with redu­ced mobility.

If the mini­mum num­ber of par­ti­ci­pan­ts is not rea­ched, we reser­ve the right to can­cel the trip up to four weeks befo­re the date of arri­val.
