Char­ming Desen­za­no is your base for the seven-day ral­ly to the most diver­se cor­ners and ends of Lake Gar­da. The home of Romeo and Juliet with its famous amphi­thea­ter and bal­c­o­ny is just one of the towns you will explo­re. Tren­to, Man­tua and Bre­scia also enchant with their cul­tu­re and exci­ting histo­ry. On hot sum­mer days, the num­e­rous lidos invi­te you to jump into the cool water. Itinerary / Stages

Day 1
Indi­vi­du­al arri­val Desenzano
Distanz: 0 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
Tour infor­ma­ti­on and bike hire. A first walk into the old town is a good idea — all paths lead to the lively har­bor with its rela­xed atmo­sphe­re, whe­re restau­rants and cafés line up side by side. 
Day 2
Excur­si­on to Trento
Distanz: 50 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
Trans­fer to Tren­to with its beau­tiful old town, cathe­dral and Buon­con­siglio Cast­le. First along the Adi­ge to Rover­eto. From here the tour heads west towards Lake Gar­da. In Mori, you can sam­ple the famous pistachio ice cream or a fresh­ly squeezed fruit juice in the Gela­te­ria Bolo­gna. After a short climb, the des­cent to the lake fol­lows to Tor­bo­le and on to Riva. Boat trip along the enti­re length of the lake back to Desenzano. 
Day 3
Excur­si­on to Verona

Train jour­ney to Vero­na in the mor­ning. The city of Romeo and Juliet attracts visi­tors with its Renais­sance palaces, the Roman are­na and the many cozy squa­res. Over gent­le hills, past cypres­ses and viney­ards, the tour takes you back to the sou­thern shore of Lake Gar­da, whe­re you can enjoy the magni­fi­cent pan­o­r­amic views of the lake and the moun­ta­ins in the distance. 
Day 4
Excur­si­on to Mantua
Distanz: 65 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
Beau­tiful paths lead south along the Min­cio to Man­tua. The thousand-year-old city of the Gon­z­a­ga fami­ly casts a spell over visi­tors with its art and beau­ty. Worth see­ing are Cas­tel­lo S. Gior­gio and Palaz­zo Duca­le, Piaz­za Sor­del­lo with Rigo­let­to’s house, the cathe­dral, Piaz­za Bro­let­to with the old town hall, Piaz­za Erbe with the court palace, the clock tower, the rotun­da of S. Loren­zo and the Basi­li­ca of S. Andrea. Return jour­ney by train. 
Day 5
Excur­si­on into the histo­ry of Italy

On day 5, lonely cycle paths take you through viney­ards, peach gro­ves and kiwi plan­ta­ti­ons until you reach Sol­fe­ri­no. The place whe­re Gari­bal­di united Ita­ly in the famous Batt­le of Sol­fe­ri­no. You return to Lake Gar­da through the area whe­re the spar­k­ling wines of Lug­a­na are grown. 
Day 6
Excur­si­on to Brescia
Distanz: 60 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
Cycle once more along the pic­tures­que lakes­hore with its fan­ta­stic views, this time in the direc­tion of Caval­ge­se di Rivie­ra. Along the Naviglio Gran­de Bre­scia­no (canal with cycle path), your desti­na­ti­on is Bre­scia. The city of Roman ori­gin awaits you with many sights. Return jour­ney by train.

Tour cha­rac­ter
The rou­te is flat to slight­ly hil­ly. You cycle on cycle paths, side roads and some­ti­mes on coun­try lanes. Hea­vy traf­fic must be expec­ted at times when ente­ring and lea­ving the city. 
High­lights
You will stay in a char­ming hotel in Desen­za­no, from whe­re you can explo­re the lake — this is par­ti­cu­lar­ly easy on the included boat trip. In Vero­na, you fol­low in the foot­s­teps of Romeo and Juliet. 
Other notes
To ensu­re a stress-free start to the trip, we recom­mend arri­ving at the start­ing point by ear­ly evening in most cases. Some tours start as ear­ly as mid­day, in which case we recom­mend arri­ving the day befo­re and will be hap­py to book an extra night for you at the same time. The indi­vi­du­al return jour­ney takes place on the last day of the tour. The kilo­me­ters are appro­xi­ma­te and may dif­fer from the actu­al kilo­me­ters cover­ed. This tour is not sui­ta­ble for peo­p­le with redu­ced mobility.
