Feuer und Eis partner tour

Lakes Route

from 1.371,- per person

The Lakes Route is aptly named, as the route touches countless lakes between the start on Lake Geneva and the finish on Lake Lucerne. The route crosses some of the outstanding tourist regions and places with illustrious names: Montreux, Gruyères, Gstaad, Interlaken and Lucerne. Anyone who completes the Lakes Route will have seen the most beautiful corners of Switzerland.

Itinerary / Stages

Day 1
Arrival in Montreux/Vevey
Distanz: 0 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
Stroll along the promenade and enjoy the breathtaking views of Lake Geneva and the snow-white glaciers of the nearby Mont Blanc massif.
Day 2
Montreux/Vevey — Gruyères surroundings
Distanz: 50 km Höhe (+): 600m Höhe (-): 500m
Quiet roads lead you to the origin of Switzerland’s most popular cheese: Gruyère, which shares its name with the landscape. A recent symphony of green melancholy, the tinkling of cowbells and customs.
Day 3
Gruyères surroundings — Gstaad surroundings
Distanz: 40 km Höhe (+): 735m Höhe (-): 410m
Postcard Switzerland: cheese dairies, chalets, snowy mountains, cable cars, the scent of hotels and silhouettes. Even away from the idyll, the Pays d Enhaut and the Saanenland are a magnificent landscape, enlivened by the haze of celebrities and smart mountain people.
Day 4
Gstaad surroundings — Spiez
Distanz: 55 km Höhe (+): 740m Höhe (-): 1150m
The artistically decorated wooden houses in the Simmental are among the most beautiful in Europe. The Simme remains a wild river that is a real challenge for rubber dinghies. And Spiez is a water sports paradise on the serene Lake Thun.
Day 5
Spiez — Lake Sarnen
Distanz: 60 km Höhe (+): 1145m Höhe (-): 1200m
Morning boat trip from Spiez to Interlaken. Continue along the shores of Lake Brienz with some steep climbs to Meiringen and by train over the Brünig Pass. You reach Obwalden: a small canton, a large valley, a pre-Alpine landscape with scattered settlements, shallow lakes and long traditions
Day 6
Lake Sarnen — Lucerne
Distanz: 35 km Höhe (+): 240m Höhe (-): 310m
As soon as you catch a glimpse of Lake Lucerne, the Pilatus stands in your way. Bay after bay, directly after Lucerne, a fixed point for every tourist.
Day 7
Individual departure or extension
Distanz: 0 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
Individual departure or extension

The route is naturally flat along the many lakes — but there are smaller and larger inclines to overcome between the bodies of water: Less sporty cyclists should therefore use an electric bike, which is particularly suitable for this route. Sporty cyclists tackle the stages on touring bikes.
