Wise Lech, ripe Lech, wild Lech. Welcome to the last wild river in Europe! Individual arrival in Donauwörth
Donauwörth — Marxheim- Augsburg
Distanz: 66 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
From Donauwörth on the Danube cycle path to Marxheim, where the Lech cycle path begins. There is plenty of greenery and inspiration right at the start of the Lech Cycle Path — and the first photo point, as the differently colored rivers flow together at the narrow Danube-Lech point. Here at the mouth of the Lech, the Danube has created a wide valley. From Marxheim, with a beautiful view of the two river systems, you cycle over the Danube bridge, past the magnificent parish church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary to Niederschönenfeld and along the dam path to the Feldheimer Stausee bird sanctuary, an internationally important protected area
Augsburg — Landsberg am Lech
Distanz: 46 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
Lech, parkland and allotments: the route from the MAN bridge to the Hochablass in Augsburg is so green that you don’t feel like you’re in a city. Once here, it is worth taking a look at the canoe route along the ice canal on the other bank of the Lech. It was built for the 1972 Olympic Games and is part of the Augsburg Water Management System UNESCO World Heritage Site
Landsberg am Lech — Lechbruck
Distanz: 58 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
Many great viewpoints are on the program on stage 3. From the Lech bridge, you head into the historic old town of Landsberg am Lech. The route leads south through the Pössinger Au wildlife park to Pitzling, a former rafting village. You leave the river at the church and cycle upstream through a wooded area. Please note: there are many forks in the forest, so follow the signs carefully!
Lechbruck — Weissenbach
Distanz: 46 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
At Lechbruck, the former center of Lech rafting, the river leaves the Alps at the Lechschwall. From the high banks of the Premer Lech lake, the route leads to the power station in Roßhaupten with an information room about hydropower. On the dam you can get an idea of what the Illasberg gorge may have looked like before the dam was built.
Weissenbach — Steeg
Distanz: 44 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
This stage also offers everything that nature enthusiasts love. Weißenbach am Lech is the last village in the Reutte Nature Park region before entering the Lech Valley. With mountains all around, the Lech right by your side, you pass the Am Lechweg bathing lake and pass under the Johannesbrücke bridge into an Alpine pasture area
