The moun­tai­nee­ring vil­la­ge of Kreuth is loca­ted clo­se to the famous Tegern­see and offers ide­al con­di­ti­ons for an exci­ting hiking vaca­ti­on in Upper Bava­ria. On the 4‑day Kreuth moun­tain high­lights tour, you will dis­co­ver the most beau­tiful aspects of the regi­on: enjoy the swee­ping pan­o­r­amic views from the Wall­berg, soak up the sun at the expo­sed Töl­zer Hüt­te and relax in the idyl­lic Weiss­ach mea­dows. Pic­tures­que alpi­ne mea­dows, clear streams and ever-chan­ging views accom­pa­ny you every step of the way. Indi­vi­du­al arri­val at the Tegern­see to Kreuth
Distanz: 0 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
Arri­ve in one of the most beau­tiful cor­ners of Bava­ria and immer­se yours­elf in the myth of Lake Tegern­see. The magic will take hold of you. 
Pan­o­r­amic tour to the Wall­berg and Setzberg
Distanz: 16 km Höhe (+): 1060m Höhe (-): 1060m
Look for­ward to fan­ta­stic views, enjoya­ble hiking trails and culina­ry delights! From Kreuth along the Weiss­ach to the val­ley sta­ti­on of the Wall­berg­bahn. Take the cable car to the top and walk the last few meters to the sum­mit of the Wall­berg. Enjoy an incre­di­bly beau­tiful pan­o­r­amic view over the enti­re Tegern­see val­ley and the sur­roun­ding moun­ta­ins. Return via the Wall­berg­haus and the Setz­berg on the Alpi­ne natu­re trail in the direc­tion of the Gru­ber­eck. Befo­re the ascent to the sum­mit of the Gru­ber­eck, take the Via Alpi­na back down the val­ley to Kreuth. 
Bet­ween hea­ven and rock: Töl­zer Hüt­te and Buchstein
Distanz: 12 km Höhe (+): 760m Höhe (-): 790m
In the mor­ning, take the bus in the direc­tion of Aus­tria. After a few minu­tes, you walk uphill from the Bay­er­wald bus stop. Your desti­na­ti­on is the Töl­zer Hüt­te, which is pic­tures­que­ly nest­led bet­ween the Roß­stein and Buch­stein moun­ta­ins and is alre­a­dy wai­ting with culina­ry deli­ca­ci­es for refresh­ment. Tho­se who wish can climb up to the sum­mit of the Buch­stein and enjoy the view. Tho­se who pre­fer to climb the Roß­stein should not shy away from scrambling. Then it’s downhill via the Buch­stein­hüt­te and the Boden­er­leb­nis­pfad trail through the Schwar­zen­bach val­ley to the Klamm bus stop. Return to Kreuth by bus.

If you still have some time befo­re you lea­ve, why not take a rela­xing walk along the Weiß­ach to the Tegern­seer­Land natu­ral cheese dairy, stock up on deli­cious sou­ve­nirs, enjoy a cof­fee on the sun ter­race and stroll along the beau­tiful Tegern­see in Rot­tach-Egern. The return jour­ney is by bus.

BY CAR: FROM THE NORTH: Take the A8 Munich-Salz­burg high­way to the Holz­kir­chen exit and then the B318/B307 to Tegern­see. FROM THE SOUTH: Eit­her via the Inn Val­ley, the Achen Pass and the B307 or the Inn Val­ley high­way, the A8 Munich-Salz­burg high­way, to the Irschen­berg exit. Con­ti­nue via the B472 and B318 to Tegern­see // BY FLIGHT: Munich — Salz­burg — Inns­bruck // BY TRAIN: From Munich main sta­ti­on, take the BRB to Gmund or Tegern­see, bus or cab to the hotel. 
Tour cha­rac­ter
The tour is clas­si­fied as modera­te­ly dif­fi­cult and runs along well-main­tai­ned hiking trails with no clim­bing sec­tions. Sure-foo­ted­ness and a good basic level of fit­ness are required! 
Other notes
To ensu­re a stress-free start to the trip, we recom­mend arri­ving at the start­ing point by ear­ly evening in most cases. Some tours start as ear­ly as mid­day, in which case we recom­mend arri­ving the day befo­re and will be hap­py to book an extra night for you at the same time. The indi­vi­du­al return jour­ney takes place on the last day of the tour. The kilo­me­ters are appro­xi­ma­te and may dif­fer from the actu­al kilo­me­ters cover­ed. This tour is not sui­ta­ble for peo­p­le with redu­ced mobility. 
Mini­mum num­ber of participants
If a mini­mum num­ber of par­ti­ci­pan­ts is requi­red for the tour to take place, this is sta­ted under Pri­ces and ser­vices. If the mini­mum num­ber of par­ti­ci­pan­ts is not rea­ched, we reser­ve the right to can­cel the trip up to four weeks befo­re the date of arri­val. Tour rating

quite a rip-off
The redemp­ti­on of a vou­ch­er in con­nec­tion with a can­ce­led crossing of the Alps brought us to Kreuth, as a cash pay­ment was refu­sed. We were accom­mo­da­ted in an inn for the­se three nights. The inn its­elf was abso­lut­e­ly fine in terms of the room and the good food. Howe­ver, if we had boo­ked this accom­mo­da­ti­on direct­ly, we would only have paid half the total pri­ce, name­ly only EUR 270 ins­tead of EUR 538. We paid prac­ti­cal­ly twice as much over Feu­er und Eis. In return, howe­ver, we recei­ved a nice hiking map, a free ride up the Wall­berg and a “valuable” felt bag for our tra­vel docu­ments. The other pri­ces at Feu­er und Eis, e.g . for a crossing of the Alps may still be jus­ti­fied, as this requi­res various lug­ga­ge trans­fers and com­pli­ca­ted boo­kings for the various accom­mo­da­ti­on opti­ons. But only for a one-off boo­king of three nights in the same inn and the prin­tout of stan­dard tour sug­ges­ti­ons seems a litt­le over­pri­ced to us.
