Munich — Lake Garda with luggage transfer

from 1.538,- per person

Mighty mountain ranges are reflected in deep mountain lakes, lush meadows, clear brooks and sparkling waterfalls from rugged rocky aisles line your cycle paths and characterize this foray across the main Alpine ridge. From Munich, you cycle upstream along the Isar river through the picturesque Tölzer Land region into the fascinating European region of Tyrol-South Tyrol-Trentino. Innsbruck welcomes you in the heart of the Tyrolean Alps and an organized transfer takes you up to the Brenner Pass. The Eisack Valley cycle path accompanies you along the playful Eisack stream through alpine cultural landscapes and takes you via the episcopal town of Brixen to the Bolzano basin. The vineyards exude a southern flair, following the sweeping lines of the landscape in the Adige Valley and allowing the South Tyrolean lowlands to merge seamlessly into Trentino. It is only a stone’s throw from Trento to Lake Garda and the deep blue mountain lake beckons with its rugged rocks and the delicate pink of the oleander bushes.

Itinerary / Stages

Individual arrival in Munich
Distanz: 0 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
Sophisticated.Traditional.Bavarian The princess among the hearty southern German cities is in a constant state of flux and demonstrates its versatile spirit. Sometimes the Bavarian metropolis presents itself as hip and modern, sometimes traditional and down-to-earth, but always authentic and with a cultural heritage that gives the city its special character. Take your time to stroll through this lively city, admire the imposing buildings and pay a visit to the famous Hofbräuhaus.
Munich — Bad Tölz
Distanz: 50 km Höhe (+): 430m Höhe (-): 320m
The Isar cycle path takes you south out of the bustling city in the flat Alpine foothills and into the hilly Tölzer Land region, which is known for its mild climate and natural moorland. Experience a touch of nostalgia during a break in Wolfratshausen. Known for its old rafting tradition, the town offers a lovingly prepared themed trail about its historic guild. In the spa town of Bad Tölz, the colorful medieval row of houses nestles along the Isar promenade, the facades in Marktstraße captivate with their striking Lüftlmalerei paintings and the mountain panorama provides a harmonious backdrop.
Bad Tölz — Achensee region
Distanz: 50 km Höhe (+): 610m Höhe (-): 330m
On today’s cycling stage, you will literally immerse yourself in the Karwendel Alpine Park. Hardly any other region has been able to preserve its wildness and diversity in such an unadulterated way. The Isar with its natural river gravel banks accompanies you for a while. Not far from the northern tip of the Sylvensteinsee lake, at the so-called Kaiserwacht, you cross the German-Austrian border and find yourself in the furrow of the impressive Rofan and Karwendel mountain ranges. In the middle of it all, Lake Achensee nestles like a fjord and, depending on the incidence of light, its color spectrum ranges from deep green to Caribbean turquoise — simply a feast for the eyes.
Region Achensee — Innsbruck
Distanz: 55 km Höhe (+): 210m Höhe (-): 550m
At the foothills of the Karwendel mountain range, you now roll sweepingly downhill and promptly find yourself in the Lower Inn Valley, more precisely in the Schwaz/Karwendel silver region. On your way towards Tyrol’s capital Innsbruck, historically significant villages line the banks of the Inn river. At the Swarovski Crystal Worlds in Wattens, the giant watches over his world of wonder, while in Hall in Tirol, the museum in the mint tower offers exciting insights into the art of historical coin minting — including a magnificent view of the majestic mountains! Alpine-urban Innsbruck scores points with its well-kept medieval old town and the splendor of its Golden Roof.
Innsbruck — Bressanone
Distanz: 45 km Höhe (+): 200m Höhe (-): 1000m
Today’s stage starts with a train ride up to the Brenner Pass. With the southern alpine wind in your face, you roll down from the Brenner Pass on a former railroad line to Sterzing, the northernmost town on Italian territory. A visit to the Fugger town of Sterzing with its proud patrician houses and the historic Zwölferturm tower is always worthwhile before you continue your cycling day through the slender Upper Eisack Valley. The mighty Sarntal and Zillertal Alps border the valley and you cycle mostly along the young, impetuous Eisack river up and down the hills through picturesque villages, passing through remote hamlets until the Brixen valley floor opens up and you roll right into Brixen, the oldest town in South Tyrol.
Bressanone — Castelfeder vacation region
Distanz: 65 km Höhe (+): 380m Höhe (-): 570m
From the fertile Brixen valley floor, the Valle Isarco/Eisacktal cycle path leads you along former railroad tracks, mostly on a gentle slope, through impressive valleys with steeply rising rock faces. Farms, surrounded by their vines, cling to the steep slopes and chestnut trees loll their crowns in the sun. Framed by the Dolomites and the Sarntal Alps, this attractive section of the route takes you directly to the well-kept artists’ town of Klausen. A good time to push your bike through the medieval town and enjoy the flair over a good coffee. From Blumau, you cycle along the so-called Cycle Art Trail to Bolzano. Artistic installations and paintings offer a varied contrast to the alpine surroundings. Before you reach your destination for today’s stage, Bolzano is just a stone’s throw from the cycle path and looks forward to your flying visit.
Castelfeder — Trento vacation region
Distanz: 50 km Höhe (+): 80m Höhe (-): 110m
From the lovely surroundings of the South Tyrolean lowlands, you set off to explore charming Trentino. Along the Adige cycle path, you cycle mostly along the Adige embankment, passing through quaint villages. One or two wineries will tempt you with their famous wines. At Salurn, where the German-speaking part of South Tyrol ends, the Haderburg castle watches over the Salurner Klause and tells stories of the events of past centuries. The stage town of Trento invites you to enjoy the hustle and bustle of the central cathedral square in the evening in a historic setting.
Trento — Torbole/Riva del Garda
Distanz: 50 km Höhe (+): 210m Höhe (-): 330m
Flanked by steeply sloping high plateaus, you start your last cycle tour stage through the Trentino Adige Valley until you turn off towards Riva del Garda shortly after Rovereto and cycle over the fertile Vallagarina towards the San Giovanni Pass (287 m). A breathtaking view of the deep blue Lake Garda will propel you down the valley towards your destination. An exceptionally mild climate gives the region a successful mixture of mountain landscape with lush Mediterranean flora.
