Start­ing from the Isar metro­po­lis of Munich, this spor­ty road bike tour takes you across the Alps and through three count­ries — Ger­ma­ny, Aus­tria and Ita­ly to the lagoon city of Venice. On cycle paths and side roads, the tour leads through the Bava­ri­an lake dis­trict, past some of the most famous lakes, such as the Starn­ber­ger­see, Tegern­see and Schlier­see, to the Spit­zing­see. After a long tour, the many lakes invi­te you to jump into the refres­hing water. Via Kuf­stein and the Tyro­lean Inn Val­ley, you reach Inns­bruck and over the Bren­ner Pass to South Tyrol. Beneath the migh­ty peaks of the Dolo­mi­tes, which are part of the UNESCO World Heri­ta­ge Site, the tour con­ti­nues south towards the Adria­tic Sea.

Munich — Bad Tölz
Distanz: 101 km Höhe (+): 843m Höhe (-): 717m
You lea­ve Munich along the Isar. The rou­te takes you past monas­te­ries, through Bava­ri­an vil­la­ges and through the Isar flood­plains to the raf­ting town of Bad Tölz with its beau­tiful old town. 
Bad Tölz — Schwaz
Distanz: 135 km Höhe (+): 1610m Höhe (-): 1735m
From Bad Tölz con­ti­nue along the Isar to Syl­ven­stein­see. You cross the Ger­man-Aus­tri­an bor­der through the Kar­wen­del Natu­re Park and reach the Achen­see vaca­ti­on regi­on and the moun­tain lake of the same name. Tho­se who wish can take a boat trip on the Achen­see. Over­night stay depen­ding on avai­la­bi­li­ty in Jenbach/Schwaz.
Schwaz — Mühlbach
Distanz: 113 km Höhe (+): 1438m Höhe (-): 1239m
From Jen­bach or Schwaz, cycle along the well-main­tai­ned cycle path along the River Inn to Inns­bruck, the capi­tal of Tyrol. Stroll through the his­to­ric old town, visit the famous Gol­den Roof or take a trip to the Berg­isel with its ski jump or the Berg­isel Muse­um, which com­me­mo­ra­tes the batt­les on the Berg­isel under the supre­me com­mand of free­dom figh­ter Andre­as Hofer. The first chal­len­ging sec­tion of today’s rou­te from Inns­bruck to the Bren­ner Pass, the bor­der bet­ween Aus­tria and Ita­ly and at the same time the waters­hed and cul­tu­ral axis, is cover­ed by train trans­fer (cycling on the main road is not recom­men­ded due to the con­stant­ly incre­asing volu­me of traf­fic). Only a few buil­dings remain as remin­ders of the for­mer bor­der. From Bren­ner you cycle along the old rail­road line to the Fug­ger town of Ster­zing and on to Fran­zens­fes­te and Mühlbach. 
Mühl­bach — Nie­dern­dorf / Toblach
Distanz: 86 km Höhe (+): 2166m Höhe (-): 1718m
A well-main­tai­ned cycle path leads from Mühl­bach through the Pus­ter­tal val­ley, past the Mühl­ba­cher Klau­se, a for­mer bor­der post. This once for­med an anci­ent gate­way bet­ween the pro­vin­ces of Rae­tia and Nori­cum. Along the River Rienz you reach Bru­neck. We recom­mend a visit to the Folk­lo­re Muse­um in Die­ten­heim, which docu­ments rural life, cul­tu­re and cus­toms in South Tyrol. From Bru­neck you cycle along the cycle path along the River Rienz to Tob­lach, your desti­na­ti­on for today. After you have alre­a­dy spent a few kilo­me­ters on the sadd­le, we offer you a bike pit stop in Dob­bia­co to check your bike.
Nie­dern­dorf / Tob­lach — Pie­ve di Cadore
Distanz: 85 km Höhe (+): 1362m Höhe (-): 1697m
Today you fol­low the cycle path on the for­mer Dolo­mi­te Rail­way through the Höh­len­stein Val­ley past Lake Tob­lach and the war ceme­tery, which com­me­mo­ra­tes the First World War. Short­ly after­wards, a uni­que pan­o­r­amic view of the Three Peaks rock for­ma­ti­on opens up befo­re you reach Lake Dür­ren­see. The cycle path clim­bs slight­ly to the bor­der bet­ween the two pro­vin­ces of Bol­za­no and Bel­lu­no. Now you roll com­for­ta­b­ly downhill on the for­mer rail­road line and reach the Dolo­mi­te town of Cor­ti­na dAm­pez­zo with its fan­ta­stic moun­tain sce­n­ery. Con­ti­nuous­ly and gent­ly downhill — for the most part still on the for­mer rail­road line — the view to the left is of the Sora­pis moun­tain ran­ge and to the right of the rock for­ma­ti­on of the Five Towers (Cin­que Tor­ri). Cycle south through the Boi­te Val­ley to the Pie­ve / Cal­al­zo di Cado­re junction.
Pie­ve di Cado­re — Conegliano
Distanz: 97 km Höhe (+): 1587m Höhe (-): 2452m
The new­ly deve­lo­ped cycle path takes you to Lon­ga­ro­ne. This town was rebuilt in a very short space of time after it was floo­ded by a tidal wave in 1963 fol­lo­wing a rock­s­li­de into the reser­voir. The rou­te con­ti­nues to Conegliano. 
Cone­glia­no — Venice mainland/Mestre
Distanz: 84 km Höhe (+): 528m Höhe (-): 585m
You lea­ve the Alps behind you and cycle through the plain to Tre­vi­so. Along the way, you can admi­re the vil­las of the Ita­li­an archi­tect Pal­la­dio, who com­ple­ted his magni­fi­cent buil­dings here, in the imme­dia­te sphe­re of influence of the naval power of Venice. On the home stretch towards the Adria­tic, the River Sile beco­mes your com­pa­n­ion to the main­land of Venice, from whe­re you can set off on an exten­si­ve explo­ra­ti­on tour of the Sere­nis­si­ma with all its magni­fi­cent buildings

Tour cha­rac­ter
The cycle tour from Munich to Venice is a very varied tour for spor­ty racing cyclists with a basic level of fit­ness. The rou­te runs along asphal­ted cycle paths and low-traf­fic side roads (except in the main sea­son of July/August). From the Alpi­ne foot­hills over the Bren­ner Pass and the Dolo­mi­tes, the­re are a few clim­bs to over­co­me. The last sec­tion of the tour leads lei­su­re­ly across the Ita­li­an lowlands.

By train: Rail jour­ney to Munich main sta­ti­on and by sub­way to the hotel By pla­ne: Low-cost flights to Munich, Tre­vi­so or Venice Mar­co Polo air­port. On request, we can orga­ni­ze trans­fers from the air­port to the start­ing point of the tour.

To ensu­re a stress-free start to the trip, we recom­mend arri­ving at the start­ing point by ear­ly evening in most cases. Some tours start as ear­ly as mid­day, in which case we recom­mend arri­ving the day befo­re and will be hap­py to book an extra night for you at the same time. The indi­vi­du­al return jour­ney takes place on the last day of the tour. The kilo­me­ters are appro­xi­ma­te and may dif­fer from the actu­al kilo­me­ters cover­ed. This tour is not sui­ta­ble for peo­p­le with redu­ced mobility.
