Feuer und Eis partner tour

On the pulse of the Alps 2 — From Kitzbühel to the Three Peaks — guided tour

from 1.859,- per person

The starting point of this Alpine crossing is the chamois town of Kitzbühel. The hike leads across the Kitzbühel Alps into the Hohe Tauern National Park with its glacial valleys and extraordinary variety of flowers. The area becomes ever rougher, the rock faces steeper and the ice-covered peaks of the three-thousand-meter peaks shine in the distance. The peaks of the Dolomites are getting closer and closer. You finally reach Italy from Austria via the Gsieser Törl. Past lush alpine meadows and huts that have been managed for centuries, you descend into the Gsiesertal valley. The stage finish is not far away and another highlight awaits at the end of the tour: the Three Peaks, situated in the middle of the Unesco World Heritage Site.

Once you reach the highest point, you have a wonderful view of the glacier world of the Großvenediger. Via a well-signposted hiking trail, with the Großvenediger and the surrounding mountains always in view, you hike towards Innergschlöss and back to the Matreier Tauernhaus via the beautiful alpine pastures. Matrei/Matreier Tauernhaus — Mariahilf — Gsieser Törl — Gsiesertal — Toblach
Distanz: 11 km Höhe (+): 780m Höhe (-): 740m
Take the bus to Mariahilf to start today’s hiking day. Along shady forest paths, the trail climbs higher and higher up to the first mountain pastures and the Gsieser Törl, which is the subject of many old smuggling stories. Especially in the 1920s and 1930s, it was a much-used smuggling route between Italy and Austria. The view sweeps across the valley to the Braies Dolomites. On your way into the tranquil Gsiesertal valley, one hut follows the next: Oberbergalm, Kradorferalm or Messnerhütte to name but a few. A hearty meal is served almost everywhere. The many traditional dishes are simply too tempting to resist: Bacon dumplings on coleslaw, cheese dumplings, Kaiserschmarrn, apple strudel. At the end of the stage, transfer to Dobbiaco.

Distanz: 10 km Höhe (+): 740m Höhe (-): 740m

You hike over the Golfenbach stream through green forests and lush meadows to the Bonnerhütte hut. This is located on a broad ridge below the Dobbiaco Pfannhorn. At the end of the stage, you have a transfer back to Dobbiaco.
Enjoyable panoramic tour on the Prato Piazza
Distanz: 10 km Höhe (+): 450m Höhe (-): 450m
Alongside the Hohe Gaisl and the Kreuzkofel group, the Plätzwiese is one of the most popular hiking areas in the country. This region is particularly attractive to visitors due to its extraordinary flora and wild lakes. This stage offers you a unique view of the Hohe Gaisl, the Three Peaks, the Tofana and Monte Cristallo.
Dobbiaco — Val Fiscalina — Three Peaks — View of the Three Peaks
Distanz: 15 km Höhe (+): 960m Höhe (-): 950m

You hike below the Paternkofel, which was fought over during the First World War (the legendary mountain guide Sepp Innerkofler lost his life here) towards the landmark of the Dolomites, the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Three Peaks and the famous Drei Zinnen Hut. This is where the beautiful northern section of the hike begins with a typical view of the Three Peaks. From the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, the route leads over the Rienzböden and the Rienz Valley to the Dreizinnenblick. At the end of the stage you have a transfer back to Dobbiaco.
