Feuer und Eis partner tour

Salzkammergut circular hiking trail

from 937,- per person

Hiking in the Salzkammergut does not necessarily mean having to climb mountains. There is another way. Enjoy the picturesque Salzkammergut on foot. This three-day hiking tour takes you from the unspoiled Schwarzensee to Attersee — Austria’s largest inland lake — and on to the much-praised Wolfgangsee. Nature and culture are in harmony with each other and offer the ideal conditions for an eventful hike.

The dark blue lake reflects the mountain scenery of the Loser and Trisselwand, with the Dachstein looming in the distance — what a panorama! For a few kilometers, you follow the Via Salis hiking trail, which reminds you that this region is inextricably linked to salt mining. From the forest, you enter the sunny Blaa-Alm with many alpine huts and an inn that invites you to stop for a bite to eat. Now it’s downhill to the wild and romantic Rettenbachklamm gorge. The Rettenbach valley then opens up to reveal one of the largest low mountain pastures in Europe. Regional dishes are also on offer here and are well worth a visit. Refreshed, you can now make your way back to Bad Ischl, which is also the end of the circular hike.
