The cycling tour takes you along the bike paths from the eas­tern Pus­ter Val­ley and the Dolo­mi­tes to the pro­vin­cial capi­tal of Bol­za­no, to Lake Kal­tern, to the spa town of Mer­ano, and to the Vinsch­gau Valley.

Day 1
Indi­vi­du­al arri­val in Brixen
Distanz: 0 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
Indi­vi­du­al arri­val at the start­ing hotel in Bri­xen. If you arri­ve ear­lier, you can visit the old town with its arca­des and the cathedral . 
Day 2
Bress­ano­ne — Alta Pus­te­ria — Bressanone
Distanz: 65 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
In the mor­ning, you will be trans­fer­red by train to Fortezza/Franzenfeste, the start­ing point for today’s stage by bike. You begin your ride through pic­tures­que Alpi­ne land­scapes towards Brunico/Bruneck, the heart of the Val Pusteria/Pustertal regi­on. The rou­te con­ti­nues to the foot of Plan de Corones/Kronplatz, one of the most famous desti­na­ti­ons for win­ter sports enthu­si­asts and hikers in sum­mer. Along the way, you have the oppor­tu­ni­ty to visit San Loren­zo, a pic­tures­que vil­la­ge with Roman roots, whe­re you can dis­co­ver traces of anci­ent histo­ry and enjoy the uni­que atmo­sphe­re. The rou­te ends in Bress­ano­ne, whe­re you can visit the his­to­ric cen­ter with its beau­tiful cathe­dral square.please note!!!Due to work on the Bress­ano­ne-Dob­bia­co rail­road line, which will be car­ri­ed out as part of the pre­pa­ra­ti­ons for the 2026 Mila­no-Cor­ti­na Olym­pic Games, our South Tyrol Sim­ply So cycle tour in the 2025 sum­mer sea­son will have to be adjus­ted. Spe­ci­fi­cal­ly, on the first day you will not cycle from Dob­bia­co to Bressanone/Brixen, but will do a round trip from Bressanone/Brixen to Brunico/Bruneck and back (approx. 70 km). If you have boo­ked ren­tal bikes, you will recei­ve them at the first hotel in Bressanone/Brixen. In par­ti­cu­lar, you will no lon­ger cycle from Dob­bia­co to Bress­ano­ne on the first day, but will cycle an alter­na­ti­ve rou­te of around 70 km.
Day 3
Bress­ano­ne — Bolzano
Distanz: 40 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
The Isar­co Val­ley cycle path from Bress­ano­ne to Bol­za­no along the Isar­co river sets the direc­tion today. The start­ing point is the epis­co­pal town of Bressanone/Brixen, which you lea­ve hea­ding south. The pic­tures­que litt­le town of Klau­sen with its nar­row streets and hou­ses soon invi­tes you to take a first look around. Final­ly, South Tyro­l’s capi­tal Bol­za­no awaits you, the city whe­re two cul­tures meet. 
Day 4
Bol­za­no — Appia­no — Lake Cal­da­ro — Bolzano
Distanz: 45 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
Today, a cycle tour in South Tyro­l’s most famous wine-gro­wing regi­on and around Lake Kal­tern is on the pro­gram. You first cycle past Sig­munds­kron Cast­le to Appia­no, the lar­gest wine-gro­wing com­mu­ni­ty in South Tyrol. You con­ti­nue on your way to Kal­tern. If you wish, you can make a short detour to the idyl­lic Lake Mon­tiggl at St. Micha­el and take a refres­hing dip. The muni­ci­pa­li­ty of Kal­tern is defi­ni­te­ly worth a visit , as is the South Tyro­lean Wine Muse­um. Short­ly after Kal­tern, Lake Kal­tern awaits you befo­re you cycle back to Bol­za­no along the Adi­ge cycle path. 
Day 5
Bol­za­no — Merano
Distanz: 40 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
Along the wine rou­te, you cross the lar­gest fruit-gro­wing area in South Tyrol, whe­re one orchard fol­lows the next — this is whe­re the famous South Tyro­lean apple comes from. The oldest winery in South Tyrol in Andri­an is also on your way. The rou­te con­ti­nues via Ter­lan and Nals to the muni­ci­pa­li­ty of Lana, which is defi­ni­te­ly worth a visit befo­re you reach the spa town of Meran. The gar­dens of Trautt­mans­dorff Cast­le, just abo­ve Merano/Meran, are also well worth a visit. Alter­na­tively, you can also cycle along the Adi­ge cycle path along the dam direct­ly to Merano/Meran.
Day 6
Mer­ano — Val Venosta/Vinschgau/Mals — Merano
Distanz: 60 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
The Ven­os­ta Val­ley Rail­way takes you from Mer­ano to Malles/Mals. Cycle downhill along the Adi­ge cycle path and explo­re the enti­re val­ley. The first stop is Glorenza/Glurns, the smal­lest town in South Tyrol. Con­ti­nue on through the fruit-gro­wing area to Prad, Laas, Schland­ers and Naturns back to the spa town of Meran. 
Day 7
Mer­ano — Val Pas­si­ria — Merano
Distanz: 35 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
Today you cycle along the cycle path of the same name into the Pas­sei­er Val­ley. You can enjoy the view of South Tyrol with its rivers and magni­fi­cent moun­ta­ins one last time befo­re retur­ning to Mer­ano for your last night

Natu­re of the Tour
South Tyrol just like this: an easy cycle tour for ever­yo­ne. In recent years, the cycle path net­work in South Tyro­l’s val­leys has been very well deve­lo­ped. Alt­hough South Tyrol is pri­ma­ri­ly known for its uni­que moun­tain sce­n­ery, you will find many easy, flat val­ley cycle paths wit­hout major incli­nes. This cycle tour is also sui­ta­ble for fami­lies with child­ren aged 14 and over. 
Arri­val / Par­king / Departure
By car: Via the Bren­ner high­way (A22) to Bri­xen or via the Fel­ber­tau­ern road to Lienz in East Tyrol, across the Aus­tri­an-Ita­li­an bor­der and then on the SS49 through the Pus­ter­tal to Brixen.by train: Via Inns­bruck and the Bren­ner or via East Tyrol/Pustertal to Bri­xen. Time­ta­bles at: www.deutschebahn.de, www.oebb.at, www.trenitalia.com.Mit By pla­ne: The nea­rest air­ports are Inns­bruck (approx. 83 km), Vero­na Vil­lafran­ca (approx. 191 km), Tre­vi­so (approx. 228 km), Venice Mar­co Polo (approx. 313 km).Parking: Par­king faci­li­ties in Bressanone/Brixen at the start­ing hotel: No advan­ce reser­va­ti­on pos­si­ble; pay­ment on site direct­ly at the hotel.
