South Tyro­lean Wine & Alpi­ne Pas­tu­re Trail

Blos­so­ming viney­ards and apple orchards as far as the eye can see await you in the first part of your hiking week. Start­ing from the famous spa town of Merano/Meran, you will hike along the South Tyro­lean Wine Road, past his­to­ric cast­les and palaces. Idyl­lic wine vil­la­ges along the way invi­te you to take a short break and tas­te the num­e­rous South Tyro­lean spe­cial­ties made from wine and app­les. Ano­ther high­light of the trip is a detour to the pro­vin­cial capi­tal of Bol­za­no. The city pres­ents its­elf fine­ly dres­sed up and with Ita­li­an flair in the win­ding leafy alleys and the colorful hust­le and bust­le on Piaz­za Walt­her. After get­ting a tas­te of the city air, the sun­ny high pla­teau of Möl­ten offers won­derful tran­quil­li­ty and pure natu­re! Magni­fi­cent bloo­ming alpi­ne land­scapes, spar­se larch forests and gra­zing cows, who­se milk is pro­ces­sed into deli­cious spe­cial­ties on the alpi­ne pas­tu­res. Throug­hout the enti­re hiking week, you will be accom­pa­nied by count­less pan­o­r­amic views of the rug­ged peaks of the Dolo­mi­tes, the Sarn­tal Alps, the fer­ti­le Adi­ge Val­ley and Lake Kaltern.
