At the foot of the Dolo­mi­tes, you cycle along well-deve­lo­ped val­ley cycle paths, inclu­ding the clas­sic Dob­bia­co-Lienz rou­te on the Drau cycle path, wit­hout encoun­tering any major incli­nes. Lake Dob­bia­co, the view of the Three Peaks and the typi­cal vil­la­ges and val­leys will remain in your memo­ry for a long time. From your hotel in Alta Pus­te­ria you set off on a dai­ly cycle tour. The pro­gram lea­ves ple­nty of scope for indi­vi­du­al tours and gua­ran­tees pure cycling fun for ever­yo­ne, regard­less of whe­ther you are an ambi­tious ath­le­te or a plea­su­re-see­ker. The cycle tour takes you into the side val­leys of Alta Pus­te­ria to Ses­to and Casies and along the for­mer rail­road line of the Dolo­mi­te Rail­way to Cortinad-Ampezzo.

Indi­vi­du­al arri­val at the start­ing hotel in Alta Pus­te­ria. Free unguard­ed public par­king available near the hotel. 
Villabassa/Toblach — Brunico/Bruneck
Distanz: 30 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
Start­ing from the hig­hest point in Niederdorf/Toblach, the cycle path mean­ders along the River Rienz through the vil­la­ges of the val­ley to Bruneck/Brunico. Visit Bru­neck Cast­le with the Mess­ner Moun­tain Muse­um or the Folk­lo­re Muse­um in Die­ten­heim. Ambi­tious cyclists have the oppor­tu­ni­ty to cycle into the Tau­fe­rer Ahrn­tal val­ley along the Ahr and visit Tau­fers Cast­le. Return trans­fer from Brunico/Bruneck to your hotel in the afternoon. 
Cycle tour into the Ses­to Valley

The cycle path takes you to the fur­thest cor­ner of Ses­to, into the Val Fis­ca­li­na. Some famous Dolo­mi­te peaks greet you from high abo­ve as you cycle through the Ses­to Val­ley. Con­ti­nue out of the val­ley to San Can­di­do. A visit to the col­le­gia­te church is defi­ni­te­ly wort­hwhile. After a refresh­ment at the source of the Drau at Tob­la­cher Feld, you return to the hotel. 
Dob­bia­co Lienz
Distanz: 55 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
You lea­ve Niederdorf/Toblach and first reach Inni­chen befo­re crossing the near­by Ita­li­an-Aus­tri­an bor­der near Win­ne­bach. You now roll gent­ly to Lienz, situa­ted at the con­fluence of the Isel and Drau rivers. The old town and Bruck Cast­le are worth see­ing here. Trans­fer back to your hotel in the afternoon. 
Cor­ti­na d‘Ampezzo — Villabassa/Dobbiaco
Distanz: 35 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
A shut­tle will take you to Cor­ti­na dAm­pez­zo in the mor­ning. The rou­te takes you to the hig­hest point, Gemärk/Cimabanche, on a uni­que rou­te with tun­nels of the for­mer rail­road spe­ci­al­ly illu­mi­na­ted for cyclists. From the­re, the cycle path takes you gent­ly downhill to Lake Dür­ren­see and then on to the Three Peaks view. Enjoy the uni­que view of the­se world-famous peaks. Always fol­lo­wing the bot­tom of the val­ley, you reach Lake Tob­lach and return to the hotel. Ambi­tious cyclists can cycle from Villabassa/Dobbiaco to Cor­ti­na d’Am­pez­zo and back again (approx. 60–70 km). 
Bike ride into the Gsiesertal

This val­ley is cha­rac­te­ri­zed by tra­di­tio­nal farms and gre­at peace and tran­quil­li­ty. In Mon­guel­fo you can visit the cast­le or take a break in Vil­la­bassa to refresh yours­elf in the Kneipp faci­li­ty there.

By car: via the Bren­ner high­way (A22) to Bri­xen, exit Fran­zens­fes­te, Pus­ter­tal — through the Pus­ter­tal (sta­te road SS49) to Nie­der­dorf or Tob­lach, depen­ding on the hotel or via the Fel­ber­tau­ern road to Lienz in East Tyrol and on to Ita­ly in the Hoch­pus­ter­tal (Nie­der­dorf or Tob­lach, depen­ding on the hotel). By train: to Inns­bruck via the Bren­ner Pass to Fran­zens­fes­te. From here to Alta Pus­te­ria (train sta­ti­on Vil­la­bassa or Dob­bia­co, depen­ding on your hotel of depar­tu­re). Tour cha­rac­ter
An easy cycle tour, which is also sui­ta­ble for fami­lies and runs along val­ley cycle paths wit­hout any dif­fi­cult clim­bs. You can also take a rest day if you wish. The over­night stay is always in the same hotel in Alta Pus­te­ria (Villabassa/Toblach).
Par­king
free unguard­ed par­king space in a near­by public par­king lot for the dura­ti­on of the bike tour.
Other notes
To ensu­re a stress-free start to the trip, we recom­mend arri­ving at the start­ing point by ear­ly evening in most cases. Some tours start as ear­ly as mid­day, in which case we recom­mend arri­ving the day befo­re and will be hap­py to book an extra night for you at the same time. The indi­vi­du­al return jour­ney takes place on the last day of the tour. The kilo­me­ters are appro­xi­ma­te and may dif­fer from the actu­al kilo­me­ters cover­ed. This tour is not sui­ta­ble for peo­p­le with redu­ced mobility.
