The long-distance cycle rou­te is just over 200 km long and starts at the Ammer springs in the Gras­wang Val­ley, one of the most beau­tiful high val­leys in the Bava­ri­an Alps. Always along the Ammer, you make your way to the beau­tiful Ammer­see. Num­e­rous sights and idyl­lic river land­scapes await you on the last sec­tion past the towns of Fürs­ten­feld­bruck, Dach­au and Frei­sing befo­re the Amper flows into the Isar in Moos­burg. The advan­ta­ge of this rou­te is that the path runs in the direc­tion of flow of the two rivers, so the­re is always a slight gra­di­ent to make cycling easier. Day 1
Arri­val Oberammergau
Distanz: 0 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
Arri­ve a litt­le ear­lier in the beau­tiful mar­ket town of Ober­am­mer­gau, whe­re Bava­ri­an cul­tu­re and num­e­rous sights await you. The mar­ket town is par­ti­cu­lar­ly famous for the Pas­si­on Play, which takes place every 10 years. 
Day 2
Ober­am­mer­gau — Die­ßen am Ammersee
Distanz: 78 km Höhe (+): 340m Höhe (-): 640m
Start your tour in Ober­am­mer­gau, known for its impres­si­ve Pas­si­on Play and the beau­tiful­ly pain­ted hou­ses, such as the Pila­tus­haus. Cycle through the pic­tures­que land­scape of the Ammer­ge­bir­ge, past green mea­dows and den­se forests. Visit at least one of the high­lights along the rou­te: Ettal Monas­tery: after around 5 km you will reach the magni­fi­cent Bene­dic­ti­ne monas­tery of Ettal. The baro­que monas­tery with its impo­sing basi­li­ca is well worth a visit. Ammer gor­ge near Pei­ßen­berg: Con­ti­nue along the Ammer, whe­re you can mar­vel at impres­si­ve rock for­ma­ti­ons and the unspoi­led natu­re of the Ammer gor­ge. Weil­heim: A char­ming small town with his­to­ric buil­dings and a lively town cen­ter that invi­tes you to lin­ger. Visit the Mariae Him­mel­fahrt church and the Mari­en­platz squa­re. Die­ßen am Ammer­see: Your desti­na­ti­on, the pic­tures­que town of Die­ßen, lies direct­ly on the wes­tern shore of Lake Ammer­see. Visit the Mari­en­müns­ter, an impres­si­ve baro­que church, and stroll through the char­ming alley­ways of the town. 
Day 3
Die­ßen am Ammer­see — Haimhausen
Distanz: 74 km Höhe (+): 180m Höhe (-): 250m
Enjoy the varied ride through the Bava­ri­an lake land­scape and the his­to­ric towns and vil­la­ges on your way from Die­ßen to Haim­hausen! Start your tour in Die­ßen am Ammer­see, an idyl­lic town with num­e­rous his­to­ric sights and a pic­tures­que lakes­hore. From here, the rou­te takes you through varied land­scapes, past other lakes and through char­ming vil­la­ges to Haim­hausen. Fol­low the cycle path along the Ammer­see and enjoy the lake bree­ze. Make a stop in Herr­sching, whe­re you can visit the Kur­park­schlöss­chen and the lon­gest lake­si­de pro­me­na­de in Ger­ma­ny. A detour to the famous Andechs Monas­tery is well wort­hwhile. The Bene­dic­ti­ne monas­tery is known for its baro­que church and the deli­cious monas­tery beer, which you can enjoy in the beer gar­den with a magni­fi­cent view over the Fünf­seen­land regi­on. Your desti­na­ti­on, the muni­ci­pa­li­ty of Haim­hausen, lies to the north of Munich. Visit the baro­que Haim­hausen Cast­le, which is now home to the Bava­ri­an Inter­na­tio­nal School, and enjoy the peaceful atmo­sphe­re of this char­ming town.
Day 4
Haim­hausen — Moosburg
Distanz: 51 km Höhe (+): 150m Höhe (-): 200m
This stage takes you from Haim­hausen through rural Upper Bava­ria to Moos­burg an der Isar. You cycle through idyl­lic vil­la­ges, wide fields and along beau­tiful river land­scapes. Start your tour in Haim­hausen, whe­re you can visit the baro­que Haim­hausen Cast­le. Enjoy the quiet charm of the town befo­re you set off. After around 25 km, you will reach Frei­sing, one of the oldest towns in Bava­ria. Visit Frei­sing Cathe­dral, an impres­si­ve cathe­dral with a long histo­ry. Stroll through the old town and enjoy the lively atmo­sphe­re of the uni­ver­si­ty town. On the way to Moos­burg, you will pass the small vil­la­ges of Marz­ling and Lan­gen­bach. Both vil­la­ges are typi­cal­ly Bava­ri­an and offer an insight into rural life in the regi­on. Your desti­na­ti­on, Moos­burg, is a char­ming small town on the Isar. Visit the twin-towe­red St. Cas­tu­lus Basi­li­ca and stroll through the old town with its his­to­ric buil­dings. The town offers num­e­rous oppor­tu­ni­ties to round off the trip in comfort.

Additional information

Tour cha­rac­ter
The rou­te runs along dedi­ca­ted cycle paths and quiet side roads. It is a lei­su­re­ly river tour, most­ly flat or downhill. The cycle path is new and uni­form­ly signposted. 
Arrival/Departure/Parking
From Munich take the A95 towards Gar­misch Par­ten­kir­chen, after approx. 70 km take the exit Münch­ner­str. After 15 km you will reach Oberammergau. 
Other notes
To ensu­re a stress-free start to the trip, we recom­mend arri­ving at the start­ing point by ear­ly evening in most cases. Some tours start as ear­ly as mid­day, in which case we recom­mend arri­ving the day befo­re and will be hap­py to book an extra night for you at the same time. The indi­vi­du­al return jour­ney takes place on the last day of the tour. The kilo­me­ters are appro­xi­ma­te and may dif­fer from the actu­al kilo­me­ters cover­ed. This tour is not sui­ta­ble for peo­p­le with redu­ced mobility. 
Mini­mum num­ber of participants
If a mini­mum num­ber of par­ti­ci­pan­ts is requi­red for the tour to take place, this is sta­ted under Pri­ces and ser­vices. If the mini­mum num­ber of par­ti­ci­pan­ts is not rea­ched, we reser­ve the right to can­cel the trip up to four weeks befo­re the date of arri­val. We would like to point out that the ren­tal bikes must be retur­ned to the bike ren­tal shop on time and at your own respon­si­bi­li­ty after use. Howe­ver, our return ser­vice is available to you at any time, which you can book at any time for addi­tio­nal trans­fers. If you have boo­ked the return trans­fer for yours­elf from Moos­burg to Ober­am­mer­gau, the bikes and your lug­ga­ge are included.
