From the Isar metro­po­lis on the trail of salt across Bava­ria. You will pass typi­cal Bava­ri­an vil­la­ges, the sea of Bava­ria — Lake Chiem­see and reach the metro­po­lis of salt — Salz­burg. You will dis­co­ver towns such as Burg­hau­sen and Mühl­dorf and return to Munich with a ruck­sack full of experiences.

Day 1

Indi­vi­du­al arri­val in Munich and the rest of the day at lei­su­re. Expe­ri­ence the high­lights of the city on your own. 
Day 2
Munich — Dorfen
Distanz: 70 km Höhe (+): 270m Höhe (-): 330m
In good wea­ther, you can see the Alli­anz Are­na of FC Bay­ern Munich just befo­re Isma­ning. In Erding, you can visit Auf­hau­sen Cast­le or the Erding Farm­house Muse­um. The enti­re stage runs along quiet paths and through idyl­lic Bava­ri­an vil­la­ges. Pic­tures­que land­scapes round off this stage. 
Day 3
Dor­fen — Burghausen
Distanz: 65 km Höhe (+): 360m Höhe (-): 390m
You will pro­ba­b­ly reach Mühl­dorf am Inn at luncht­i­me. Mühl­dorf is one of the oldest towns in Bava­ria and the town squa­re is cer­tain­ly one of the most beau­tiful town squa­res. The rou­te con­ti­nues to Alt­öt­ting. As a place of pil­grimage, many pil­grimage rou­tes meet here and the impres­si­ve church squa­re invi­tes you to enjoy a cof­fee and cake. This stage is pro­ba­b­ly the most impres­si­ve of the places on this tour. Burg­hau­sen, with the lon­gest cast­le in the world (1050 m), is a crow­ning finale. 
Day 4
Burg­au­sen — Freilassing
Distanz: 67 km Höhe (+): 450m Höhe (-): 460m
This stage runs main­ly along the Salz­ach. Towards Titt­mo­ning, the impo­sing Titt­mo­ning Cast­le draws ever clo­ser. It stands out on a hill and can be seen from afar. Ano­ther high­light is the award-win­ning town squa­re in Titt­mo­ning. The rou­te con­ti­nues in the direc­tion of Salzburg. 
Day 5
Frei­las­sing — Salz­burg — Freilassing
Distanz: 20 km Höhe (+): 24m Höhe (-): 38m
Today you have the choice. A rela­xing rest day on the banks of the Salz­ach or an excur­si­on to the salt strong­holds. The Mozart city of Salz­burg, with its fort­ress, old town and flair, or the salt­works metro­po­lis of Bad Rei­chen­hall can be rea­ched by bike or train. In Bad Rei­chen­hall, you can get to the bot­tom of the histo­ry of the white gold in the old salt works. Your over­night stay is in Freilassing. 
Day 6
Frei­las­sing — Siegsdorf
Distanz: 48 km Höhe (+): 470m Höhe (-): 270m
From today, the tour heads north. Once you arri­ve in Piding, you can take a detour to Bad Rei­chen­hall (approx. 7 km). After Piding, the tour con­ti­nues to Tei­sen­dorf past the Hans-Peter Por­sche Traum­werk, the his­to­ric vin­ta­ge car and model rail­way muse­um. In Traun­stein, a visit to the Sali­nen­park or the Sali­nen­ka­pel­le cha­pel is well wort­hwhile. The last few kilo­me­ters to Siegs­dorf lead along the Traun. 
Day 7
Siegs­dorf — Rosenheim
Distanz: 56 km Höhe (+): 450m Höhe (-): 610m
Your tour towards Lake Chiem­see beg­ins at the foot of the Bava­ri­an Alps. We have deli­bera­te­ly cho­sen this stage to be a litt­le shorter to allow you to visit the island of Her­ren Chiem­see. Breath­ta­king views of the moun­ta­ins accom­pa­ny you through the foot­hills of the Chiem­gau Alps. At 1808 meters, the Gei­gel­stein is the hig­hest moun­tain in this regi­on, the sum­mit of which is always in view as far as Gras­sau. You will reach Prien am Chiem­see around luncht­i­me. This is also whe­re the boat landing stage is if you would like to visit Her­ren Chiemsee. 
Day 8
Rosen­heim — Munich
Distanz: 77 km Höhe (+): 480m Höhe (-): 390m
Your last stage of the Salz­schlei­fe takes you through idyl­lic vil­la­ges in the foot­hills of the Bava­ri­an Alps. You cycle the first 20 km along the Mang­fall. Bad Aib­ling and Glonn are the main points of ori­en­ta­ti­on for this day. Bad Aib­ling is home to the oldest moor spa in Bava­ria. Glonn is named after the river of the same name that flows through the town cen­ter. As far as Munich, you will be gree­ted by his­to­ric farm­hou­ses with sple­ndid­ly pain­ted facades.

Tour cha­rac­ter
The Was­ser­Radl­We­ge through Upper Bava­ria con­nect some of the most beau­tiful cycle rou­tes in Upper Bava­ria. They fol­low well-known cycle rou­tes such as the Isar-Inn Pan­ora­ma Trail, Sempt-Mang­fall Cycle Trail, Sali­nen Cycle Trail, Lake Con­s­tance-König­see Cycle Trail, Salt Trade Cycle Trail, Inn Cycle Trail, Sempt-Isen Cycle Trail and the Isar Cycle Trail. Indi­vi­du­al sec­tions of the rou­te are also on low-traf­fic side roads. The dif­fe­ren­ces in alti­tu­de along the rou­te are mana­geable, even if the hil­ly ter­rain offers chal­len­ging but enter­tai­ning clim­bs here and there.

By car: Munich is a trans­por­ta­ti­on hub and easy to reach from all direc­tions. By train: Munich main sta­ti­on is very well con­nec­ted with natio­nal and inter­na­tio­nal trains. Munich has a well-deve­lo­ped public trans­por­ta­ti­on net­work. The hotels are clo­se to sub­way and S‑Bahn stops.Parking: Paid par­king available at the part­ner hotel.Arrival by pla­ne: Munich Air­port is an inter­na­tio­nal hub. Alter­na­tively, Mem­min­gen Air­port is also ser­ved by low-cost air­lines. On request, we can orga­ni­ze trans­fers from the air­port to the start­ing point of the tour or your flight.

If the mini­mum num­ber of par­ti­ci­pan­ts is not rea­ched, we reser­ve the right to can­cel the trip up to four weeks befo­re the date of arri­val. We recom­mend that you do not orga­ni­ze your arri­val and depar­tu­re until after this dead­line has passed.
