Day 1
Indi­vi­du­al jour­ney to the idyl­lic sou­thern shore of Lake Traun­see to Ebensee
Distanz: 0 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
Tra­vel to Eben­see by car or public trans­port. During the cold sea­son, the local moun­tain, the Feu­er­ko­gel, shows its best side: the beau­tiful high pla­teau is home to one of the most diver­se ski are­as and win­ter hiking are­as in Aus­tria. Depen­ding on the time of arri­val, it is worth visi­ting the Eben­seer Krip­perl­ro­as (until the begin­ning of Febru­ary). 8 lar­ge land­scape nati­vi­ty sce­nes in pri­va­te hou­ses, the Catho­lic parish church and the inte­res­t­ing nati­vi­ty sce­ne exhi­bi­ti­on in the Eben­see Muse­um. Nati­vi­ty sce­ne map available at the Eben­see tou­rist office. You will recei­ve your tra­vel docu­ments at the hotel. 
Day 2
Feu­er­ko­gel — Snow­s­ho­e­ing on the high plateau

Take the win­ter shut­tle to the Feu­er­ko­gel val­ley sta­ti­on. From the­re, the Feu­er­ko­gel cable car takes you up the moun­tain. The silence of the Feu­er­ko­gel high pla­teau and end­less kilo­me­ters of untouch­ed white sple­ndor in front of you. A total of 5 snow­shoe trails and a tas­ter trail are available for snow­shoe hikers on the Feu­er­ko­gel high pla­teau, with a total length of approx. 25 kilo­me­ters. Enjoy an exten­ded snow­shoe tour in the glis­tening win­ter land­scape with breath­ta­king views of Lake Traun­see and the Salz­kam­mer­gut. After the snow­shoe tour, you will have well and tru­ly ear­ned a stop at one of the moun­tain inns and huts on the Feu­er­ko­gel (depen­ding on ope­ning times and rest days). A soup and a Kai­ser­schmar­ren pan­ca­ke await you as a culina­ry high­light. Streng­the­ned, you take the cable car back down to the val­ley and the shut­tle back to the hotel. 
Day 3
Bad Ischl — Hike around the Jain­zen and Salz­kam­mer­gut ther­mal spa

Take the train to Bad Ischl and store your bathing lug­ga­ge with our part­ner tour ope­ra­tor. Bad Ischl beca­me a vaca­ti­on desti­na­ti­on of Euro­pean stan­ding in the midd­le of the 19th cen­tu­ry when Emper­or Franz Joseph began to spend his vaca­ti­ons in his sum­mer resi­dence in Ischl. Bad Ischl has been a spa town sin­ce 1906. Lei­su­re and rela­xa­ti­on can be found in the spa gar­dens, the spa­cious ther­mal baths or by visi­ting the famous Café Zau­ner. Start your explo­ra­ti­on of the town with a cir­cu­lar walk around the Ischers’ local moun­tain, the Jain­zen. From the train sta­ti­on, walk through the town cen­ter and turn left onto Rechen­steg. You will soon reach Jain­zen­dorf­stra­ße with a beau­tiful view of the Ischl­tal val­ley. Here you can shor­ten the cir­cu­lar rou­te by around 30 minu­tes if you fol­low the asphalt road. Howe­ver, we recom­mend visi­ting the “Glücks­platz” at the Hohen­zol­ler water­fall. The rou­te now leads through a secluded val­ley with mea­dows and forest and final­ly along the ori­gi­nal Jain­zen­bach stream back to Bad Ischl. In the after­noon, take a break from your sport­ing acti­vi­ties and visit the Salz­kam­mer­gut Ther­me Bad Ischl, a place to immer­se yours­elf in pure bathing plea­su­re. In the indoor bri­ne pool and the exclu­si­ve bri­ne whirl­pool. The soot­hing power of salt and bri­ne increase well-being and pro­mo­te health. The ther­mal baths are loca­ted right next to the train sta­ti­on. Return jour­ney by train. 
Day 4
Gmun­den with Gmund­ner cera­mics and hike up the Gmundnerberg
Distanz: 10 km Höhe (+): 390m Höhe (-): 390m
Tra­vel by train to Gmun­den — the crow­ning pearl of Lake Traun­see: as the cen­ter of the salt trade, the town had a stra­te­gi­cal­ly important posi­ti­on: right at the point whe­re the Traun lea­ves Lake Traun­see and flows nor­thwards. The pro­spe­ri­ty of tho­se times, when salt was ship­ped by water, can be seen today in the magni­fi­cent faca­des. A stroll through Gmun­den is high­ly recom­men­ded. After the inde­pen­dent tour of Gmun­den and the gui­ded tour of the Gmun­den cera­mics fac­to­ry, the tour con­ti­nues with the 522 bus from Gmun­den Kera­mik to Alt­müns­ter. From the Espla­na­de Alt­müns­ter, a beau­tiful cir­cu­lar rou­te leads via the Berg­gast­hof Urzn with fan­ta­stic views of the Traun­stein and the sur­roun­ding moun­ta­ins. Depen­ding on the snow con­di­ti­ons, the­re is also a beau­tiful snow­shoe hike up the Gmund­ner­berg. We recom­mend a stop at Gast­hof Urzn (plea­se note: clo­sed days). Hike back and return to the cen­ter of Alt­müns­ter by bus or train back to Ebensee.

Every pro­duct that comes from the Gmund­ner Kera­mik Manu­fak­tur is uni­que, made and pain­ted by hand. It is the craft­sman­ship that makes the tab­le­wa­re so valuable and uni­que. The Gmund­ner Kera­mik Manu­fak­tur offers an exci­ting pro­gram all year round. Tho­se who would like to take a look behind the sce­nes can do so, for exam­p­le, on a gui­ded tour of the manu­fac­to­ry, which is offe­red all year round wha­te­ver the wea­ther (MO SA at 10:30 and 13:00). In addi­ti­on to a short film, some par­ti­cu­lar­ly valuable exhi­bits, a touch and pho­to sta­ti­on, guests are offe­red detail­ed insights into the crea­ti­on of the uni­que Gmun­den cera­mics and the pain­ting workshops. 
Hotel faci­li­ties
At the Land­ho­tel Post, guests stay in 3‑star com­fort at an afforda­ble pri­ce. Com­fort is a top prio­ri­ty here. The cozy rooms, sui­tes and fami­ly apart­ments are fur­nis­hed to a high stan­dard and invi­te you to stay. The varied cui­sine deser­ves prai­se. The menu ran­ges from home-style coo­king to dis­hes made from natu­ral ingre­di­ents and hear­ty dis­hes, as well as regio­nal and inter­na­tio­nal spe­cial­ties. An ele­va­tor and suf­fi­ci­ent par­king spaces are available. The hotel has been award­ed the Aus­tri­an envi­ron­men­tal seal and the EU Eco­la­bel. The hotel is also plan­ning to expand the use of sus­tainable elec­tri­ci­ty through solar panels and the con­s­truc­tion of a hydro­elec­tric power plant. A well­ness area with bio-sau­na, infrared cabin and rela­xa­ti­on room is available. The rooms and sui­tes have WC and bath/shower, lar­ge LCD TVs with digi­tal HD as well as tele­pho­ne, high-speed WLAN and some have a bal­c­o­ny or ter­race. Hotel loca­ti­on
Right in the heart of the Salz­kam­mer­gut, on the sou­thern shore of Lake Traun­see, lies the 3‑star Land­ho­tel Post in Eben­see. Here, against the breath­ta­king back­drop of the moun­ta­ins and lakes, the per­fect vaca­ti­on expe­ri­ence awaits hotel guests. Eben­see Lan­dungs­platz train sta­ti­on is approx. 200m away. The indoor swim­ming pool is approx. 100m away, the Muse­um of Con­tem­po­ra­ry Histo­ry approx. 250m and Lake Traun­see approx. 300m. The Feu­er­kogl cable car is approx. 1.3km away. 
Recom­men­ded equipment
3 sets of under­wear, 2 to 3 lay­ers of outer­wear / warm, func­tion­al, water­pro­of and wind­pro­of, hat and gloves, sun­glas­ses and/or ski gog­gles, sun cream, stur­dy and water­pro­of win­ter boots, gai­ters up to the kne­es are an advan­ta­ge (pre­vent snow from pene­t­ra­ting the boot), the ruck­sack should offer fas­tening opti­ons for the snowshoes.
7‑day care­free number
No mat­ter how well plan­ned a trip is, in rare cases unex­pec­ted things hap­pen. At such times, it’s nice to have someone you can rely on on site. For this reason, you will have a local cont­act per­son on our indi­vi­du­al acti­vi­ty tours who will be hap­py to pro­vi­de you with infor­ma­ti­on and, as sta­ted in the tra­vel docu­ments, can be cont­ac­ted in an emergency.

We recom­mend that you do not orga­ni­ze your arri­val and depar­tu­re until after this dead­line has passed.
