Itinerary / Stages

Individual arrival in South Tyrol
Distanz: 0 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
Welcome to the Pfitschtal. Escape the hustle and bustle and immerse yourself in the picturesque scenery of the Pfitschtal valley. Located north-east of Sterzing and a natural jewel surrounded by mountains. Welcome talk in the evening with information about the activity week.
Snowshoe hike in the Pfitschtal valley
Distanz: 0 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
Off we go into the Pfitschtal valley. Surprise tour into the terrain. With a local hero as your guide, you explore the most beautiful corners of the Pfitschtal on snowshoes. Memories for eternity are in your luggage. Don’t forget your camera. Snowshoes and poles are available for you on site and can also be used again as required during the rest of the week.
Introductory course and getting to know each other
Distanz: 0 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
After a hearty breakfast and putting on your cross-country skiing equipment, you head out onto the trail. During a short introductory course (approx. 2 hours), you will get used to the equipment and receive a few helpful tips from the professional. Afterwards, you can put what you have learned into practice and glide across the trails. The cross-country skis (classic style) are available to you for the entire active week.
Tobogganing fun on the Rosskopf
Distanz: 0 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
Off you go to the Rosskopf toboggan run. The Rosskopf toboggan run is the longest snow-covered and floodlit toboggan run in Italy. It starts directly at the mountain station of the Rosskopf cable car and runs for almost 10 kilometers and many hairpin bends down to the valley station in Sterzing. You can easily get to Sterzing by bus. A special experience is the night toboggan run on Tuesday and Friday evenings on Sterzing’s local mountain. The toboggan run is floodlit until midnight on those evenings (cable car operation until 22:00)
Cross-country skiing or culture | Torchlight hike
Distanz: 0 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
Today you can glide over the trails of the Pfitsch Valley again or discover the high-altitude trail on the Platschjoch. This starts at the mountain station of the Jaufen cable car and offers 10 — 16 km of cross-country skiing with a view (Jaufenbahn cable car ticket not included). On the way back, you can make a stop in Sterzing. Here we recommend the old town with the famous Zwölferturm tower as well as a cappuccino alla bella Italia and a Tyrolean-style bacon snack. In the evening, get to know the Pfitschertal valley from a different angle — on a wild and romantic torch-lit hike through the snow-covered area. There is a steaming mulled wine to combat the cold.
Cross-country skiing in the Ridnaun Valley
Distanz: 0 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
The bus takes you first to Sterzing and then to the Ridnauntal Valley. The Ridnauntal circular trail starts in Maiern. The trail follows the Fernerbach stream out of the valley to the hamlet of Braunhöfen, where a loop is made. This is followed by an ascent to Gasse as far as the Joggelehof farm, where a loop is made on the way back. First a section on the outward route to Ridnaun. Now the route continues in several loops of varying difficulty into the valley, following the trail back to Maiern. The old mining settlement still clearly bears the signs of the past.
Cross-country skiing in Pfitschtal
Distanz: 0 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
The easy to medium-difficulty circular trail, which runs right past the hotel, leads in two loops through the Pfitsch high valley and is a real insider tip with guaranteed snow thanks to its idyllic location. The trail is ideal for both skaters and classic style skiers and is groomed daily. As a little refreshment, you get a picnic on the way to make yourself comfortable in a sunny spot along the way.
Wrap up reminder
Distanz: 0 km Höhe (+): 0m Höhe (-): 0m
Unfortunately, your active week ends today. If you want, you can glide over the cross-country trails of the Pfitsch Valley one last time before heading home.
